September 25, 201311 yr Author 'Ready For The Weekend' is being used in a new 4Music advert and it seems to have had a small effect as the song has just entered the top 1500 on iTunes! It is available to download from the album pre-order. :D
September 25, 201311 yr I listened to the album in full and it's surprisingly good. :o They're not quite the one trick ponies I thought.

September 26, 201311 yr http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/18529-...s-is-icona-pop/ 7.5/10 Jesus.......a new low for Pitcfork.
September 26, 201311 yr I absolutely LOVE this album. Really surprised at how fun and consistent it is, helped by the fact they know when an idea is thin and they don't over stretch it with most tracks bowing out at 3 mins max.
September 27, 201311 yr I think they're offering something a bit different at the moment for mainstream pop music (I get that 2 or 3 tracks on this album (including the two singles so far) could be considered generic though)
October 4, 201311 yr Really? I think the vocals are irritating. Yep, really! I can totally see why you wouldn't like it but I find the whole project so fun and uplifting that I just don't care about whether they're amazing singers or not. As usual, I've cheated and made my own version as follows: 01 Sun Goes Down 02 I Love It 03 All Night 04 Light Me Up 05 Ready for the Weekend 06 On a Roll 07 Girlfriend 08 Lovers to Friends 09 Then We Kiss 10 In The Stars 11 We Got the World 12 Hold On 13 Just Another Night 14 Heads Up Now all I need is the sunshine back and I'm SET.
October 6, 201311 yr I saw them perform at G-A-Y last night, they only got to do 'All Night' and 'I Love It' because Whigfield (!) and Sam + The Womp (who were by far the worst live act I've ever seen) also performed. The ginger one grabbed my head during the chorus of 'I Love It'.
January 12, 201510 yr Author Just heard 'Light Me Up' used in a BBC advert! :D New 'Stardust' please!
