January 17, 201411 yr It's not been mentioned but two weeks ago it entered the TV Airplay at #50 and climbed to #29 the following week.
January 17, 201411 yr People need to not. The girls were 13th and they always picked the top 10. They made an exception last year, but it has been top 10 for years, so really, there's nothing new there. But it's just so typical in The Saturdays world. As for Little Mix, their fans are just beyond delusional. They released an album 8 weeks before the BRIT nominations and expected it to be nominated for like best selling album as if they were that much of a big album sellers in the first place. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely MUCH better than The Saturdays, but there are so many better album sellers than Little Mix which might have released their album before them (and even if they didn't, if they truly are better album sellers, they will still sell more than these girls). Anyway, my point is, it was delusional for them to expect anything for the BRIT. But for us, it wasn't. What About Us was released in March, it had plenty of time to sell (unlike 'Move' for example) which is why we could have had expected one without being delusional. I mean it was the 13th best selling single after all, it wasn't that far from the top 10 so it wasn't delusional.
January 17, 201411 yr As for Little Mix, their fans are just beyond delusional. I love you for speaking the truth!
January 18, 201411 yr I am not delusional :o Hahaah. Byt they are not at a stage to compete with the saturdays... Yet
January 18, 201411 yr I am not delusional :o Hahaah. Byt they are not at a stage to compete with the saturdays... Yet I think aside from their debut and wings + the one they are doing for sports relief, I don't actually think they've been that big over here but much bigger in America? Am I alone in thinking this?
January 18, 201411 yr Little Mix have been the biggest girl group of the past 2 years so yeh I'd say they are big here.

As much as it pains me to say it, Little Mix are bigger in the UK than the Saturdays :( Edited January 18, 201411 yr by NotGivingUp

January 18, 201411 yr It's a bit unfair anyway to count Cannonball as their first single when themselves don't even consider it as a single. As a number one, sure, but it does feel like it belongs to the whole X-Factor thing and not the girls. Was it ever included in one of their albums? The Saturdays had a more successful first era than Little Mix which is even more surprising considering The Sats started from the scratch while Little Mix had better support and the sales were definitely better during Little Mix time. 471,500 Wings v 115, 000 If This Is Love 250,000 DNA v 350,000 Up 137,000 Change Your Life v 263,000 Issues 120,000 How Ya Doin'? v 285,000 Just Can't Get Enough 335,500 DNA v 386,000 Chasing Lights But unlike The Saturdays, Little Mix didn'T flop right after that. They are keeping their current success by giving great performances and having great support from the label. The Saturdays and Polydor should take a few notes.
January 18, 201411 yr Little Mix will flop though eventually over here like most winners of the worlds worst tv show.
January 18, 201411 yr I think they know what they are doing and what works for them (both the girls and the label) unlike The Saturdays.
January 19, 201411 yr That comparison NotGivingUp is a bit nonsensical. Little Mix seem to have a good team/strong commercial support behind them.
January 19, 201411 yr Yeah it actually didn't go to plan :/ haha, in my head The Sats would have come off better, plus I got bored half way into it and copied stuff without reading what I copied lolly I think LM have a far better team/far more financial investment and much more tv/radio/gp support due to TXF
January 19, 201411 yr Little Mix still have, at least, a couple more albums in them. They've currently just established their sound and they haven't suffered from the second album syndrome. Everyone expected them to flop yet they've become one of the most successful winners and groups from the show. If they don't last as long as The Saturdays, it'll be because they're on Syco who are notorious for dropping acts left, right and centre because of one misstep. The Saturdays' label have, thankfully, been incredibly lenient which is why they've lasted so long and look to last further. It is incredibly unfair to compare the two anyway as Little Mix probably have a higher budget in terms of production and promotion and they had the buzz around them from being on The X Factor. Also, The Saturdays career started four years before Little Mix's when album sales were higher but singles sales were lower and the current trend was different.
January 19, 201411 yr Yeah you are right. In all honesty, I think LM have probably reached their peak. Unless they uncover some monster track. Sats and the Wanted have certainly peaked now, its just interesting to see how long they can sustain the decline. The Sats could probably manage another campaign like this one, or they may decide to just do NGU release full throttle, then announce a Greatest Hits/Tour and split in the winter like JLS did. Same for The Wanted.
