Just to set everyone clear:- Channel 5 news had an interview with the showbiz editor of The Sun tonight, in relation to his views on the song. He explained that he had contacted the Official Charts Company who believed that the song didn't represent a single which was being bought in relation to musical taste but on the grounds of political views, which could cause both conflict and hurt to some listeners. The Official charts company PROHIBIT such tracks to be counted in relation to chart positions. Itunes are still allowing the song to be purchased as the song itself is not meant to cause offence in anyway, all profits of the song will go to the producer of the track. However the song will not be play listed on the Official Top 40 Chart Show on any platforms come Sunday. The public can still buy the song, and it will chart on independent charts however it will not be shown on the Official charting outlets. Radio stations are still permitted to play the song BUT not during Official Chart Countdowns.

Yes, because the Sun has never lied

The OCC THEMSELVES posted an article earlier stating where the tracks were in the first midweeks and that all versions are chart-eligible. Things like this make the chart a "talking point" and get it extra publicity (like with PJ and Duncan a few weeks ago), so it would make no sense whatsoever from their point of view to ban it.
