Obviously there's the split topic but I thought it might be more appropriate to have a seperate one for the greatest hits or have them merged (feel free to do so mods if you're reading this). Confirmed released date of 18th November - the above is just the holding cover. There will be regular and deluxe editions, and their final single preceding this release.

Also just released in the last few days from Marvin's Mixcloud account is a preview of this new and previously unreleased song 'Let Me Feel Your Love'. Whether or not it'll be featuring on this album is yet to be seen. I hope so as it's a good party track.

"I wanna feel feel your touch, I wanna sex you up" see RIGHT THERE is why they had to split.

Anyway it rather surprises me that acts bother with GH sets these days given that all the singles are available to buy constantly and it's easy enough to make your own GH set?...I can kinda see the point at Christmas when people want sonething physical to pop under the tree etc

Do many acts bother with Greatest Hits albums these days though? Barely any acts release them these days.

I didn't say many, just acts (plural) :D Kelly Clarkson, Neil Diamond, McFly, Westlife all spring to mind over the past few years.

There have definitely been more acts that released Greatest Hits albums ten years ago though. The days of Britney Spears, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue releasing their Greatest Hits albums in the same quarter are long gone.

Kelly Clarkson, Girls Aloud & Mclfy all released their greatest hits within the same month last year.

Yeah, but they were nowhere near as big at that stage in their career than the artists I just mentioned were.

Thats not the point you were trying to make though
I wouldn't be overly surprised if this did surprisingly well and led to a "goodbye album" the following year, despite the current title of the GH.
I'm hoping for one last killer single from them :)
Is this the right forum for this thread anyway - surely they're R&B, not pop?
When was their first?

 made me giggle, they are irritating me to f*** with this split. It's as if they were huge  No ones cared for them properly for a few years.

No, they are pop. There's nothing R&B about them (bar the likes of HGITW and TACOM). I actually get annoyed with how the R&B/Hip-Hip forum is full of black pop artists. For example, Jason Derulo should be in the pop section. 'The Other Side' is dance-pop.

I'm hoping for one last killer single from them :)

Do you mean 'career killer'

When was their first?

The Club is Alive & She Makes Me Wanna spring to mind

In terms of album tracks, I love I Like It and Dessert off the latest album

shorty my dessert, ima lick your whole body up

Meh, I think they got out at the right time. Something is telling me that this could all be set up. Their popularity has started to fall slightly and their tour ticket sales have gone on fire since their announcement.

Leave on a high sort of thing

Super deluxe version - consisting of a 2CD and DVD set signed by the boys - is up for pre-order from their official store now: http://www.myplaydirect.com/jls

Three months have passed now since they announced this split and something's still not settling for me about why they're going. More so in light of their interview on Alan Carr: Chatty Man a few days after they announced it - Oritse and Aston looked absolutely devastated, Oritse probably more so given he was the one who put them together.

Whilst it's not life or death, true, the fact of the matter is everyone knows how well JLS get/got on. There's never been any busts up or drama in the past with them like other boybands or girl groups. Even putting the underperformance of 'Evolution' aside, I honestly saw them doing like what McFly did and maybe setting up their own record label and releasing new albums that way after a greatest hits to fulfill their last album for Sony. They earn well enough to do it.

And something's equally disconcerting about the fact that Marvin of late in interviews he's done on his own - such as the one that's in Fabulous magazine in The Sun today - is almost relieved that the split's happening and is now trying to do that thing of 'everyone forget I was from JLS please' like he's embarrassed by it. Someone, somewhere, is not telling the truth. And I know that's probably for legal reasons at this stage in time but bands that get on well like JLS don't just split for no reason.

More likely that that one of them wanted to leave and they all agreed to split (though they probably didn't want to in their hearts). The time was right however I don't really see where they could have gone!
