I gave "Jump" a 9! No way would I say it's as pedestrian as "Long Hot Summer" :P

 

A shame to see "Can't Speak French" out before some of the singles ahead of it - it was the song that turned me into a GA loon, and I'll always love its video :wub: The French version is also very good, if not accurate :lol:

The appropriate selection there really. A lot of good but not great tracks. I'm surprised to see 'Close To Love' this high though. I really liked it for the first few weeks, but now I'd probably call it one of the weakest tracks on the 'Tangled Up' album.

I fully intended on putting more up yesterday but my internet stopped working and is still playing up a bit today, but internet permitting I will be putting up as many as I can today.

At #24 is 'Control Of The Knife' the 5th highest placing song from the epic Tangled Up album. Very glad to see this song do well, was great live, although I do prefer Close To Love! At '#23 is 'Wild Horses' from Chemistry, 5th highest from said album. Personally I don't get the love for this song, the intro is pretty horrific although it does improve after that, I think if it was sang by anyone else I wouldn't give the song the time of day. But seems to be loved by most gaining a 8.62 average score.

At #22 is the next single to fall 'Wake Me Up' and last single to not make the Top 20, Coming 14th overall of the singles leaving 13 more to fight for the #1 spot. I was never a huge fan of this song at the time but I do love it now and it was a really fun song to hear live! At #21 is 'Models' from Chemistry coming 4th from that album. Models is a song that I'm surprised never got released I'd have much preferred it to over Long Hot Summer or See The Day, but the song beats both on this countdown just missing the top 20!

 

 

Control of the Knife is VERY overrated IMO. :( Third weakest on Tangled Up.

20.Singapore - 8.78

The first song to make the Top 20 is 'Singapore' the highest of the 4 bonus tracks from The Sound of Girls Aloud. Tbh this for me is one of the biggest shockers in the whole countdown, although I really like this song like a lot of people I didn't expect to see it get this high and beat many fan favourites. Still here it is and gaining a very high average of 8.78!

At joint #18th place next we firstly have 'Love Machine' coming 13th of all singles in the countdown, a shock for me that this didn't go Top 10 I thought that it could be Top 3 at one point but turns it some people aren't that fussed, although it still manages to gain an 8.8 average overall. Also at #18 is 'Watch Me Go' which is the highest non-single track from the album Chemistry, I do really like this song and it is very catchy so I can see why it did so well but I wasn't expecting this well.

I must have made an error there! I won't argue with it though, it's a great song.

 

I love 'Watch Me Go', pure filth. :wub: 'Love Machine' is not one of my favourite singles, but I still enjoy it.

I love St Trinians and don't get the hype about Every Now And Then... so basically it's my fault this countdown is so messed up!

 

Shocked that Wake Me Up didn't make the top ten though, I thought it was quite a fan favourite!

17.Black Jacks - 8.94

At #17 is 'Black Jacks' another song from my favourite 'Tangled Up' coming 4th from said album, leaving 3 more to fight for the title. Tbh I thought this could be higher maybe even top 10 but I think this is a good position. For me this song was overrated when I first heard TU but after seeing it Live and on the TU dvd I fell in love with it.

16.The Promise - 9.2

At #16 is the next single to fall 'The Promise' which is 12th out of all the singles and 3rd from the Out Of Control album. The song reached #1 officially and got the Girls their one and only Brit award. Tbh I thought this would get higher or at least beat The Loving Kind but it seems not everyone loves it. Personally it is one of my favourite ever GA tracks and pretty much all of their performances of this song have been amazing :heart: Also this song is the first to gain over a 9 point average.

SO pleased to see 'The Loving Kind' beat 'The Promise'. Not that I don't like 'The Promise', it just always overshadows that song which I always had so much love for.

No way!!! I'm very shocked by that!!

15. Graffiti My Soul - 9.26

At #15 is 'Graffiti My Soul' from the album What Will The Neighbours Say? coming 2nd from said album. It is also the 4th highest non single in the countdown leaving just 3 songs to try and outdo the remaining 11 singles. This song for me was is one of the travesties that was never released it was screaming to be a single. Tbh I thought this might challenge the top 10 and beat a few more singles but it didn't do quite as well as I would have hoped or expected, although still getting a huge 9.26 average.

 

 

14. Memory Of You - 9.32

At #14 is 'Memory Of You' originally a b-side for 'The Loving Kind' but later featured on the bonus disc of 'Ten' after being voted #1 by the fans. The song comes 3rd out of the non-single tracks in the countdown leaving 2 left to fight for the win. This for me is is in my Top 3 Girls Aloud songs of all time and should have clearly been on an album or a single or at least performed on tour. This should have been higher imo also but it didn't get rated by everyone at still managed a 9.32 average
