The producers behind T4 on the Beach will launch a new music event in August called Summer Sets On The Beach in Weston-super-Mare, which will be screened on ITV1.

Acts will perform across three stages, with the first artists set to be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale in May from www.summersets.com

ITV will be screening the event live on ITV2, followed by a one hour special on ITV1.

T4 On The Beach ended as part of Channel 4's closure of T4 at the end of last year.

Kate Maddigan, ITV Commissioner, Entertainment said: “Summer Sets On The Beach will close our summer schedule and start our autumn season with a bang.

"Encompassing all the elements that ITV2 loves: laughs, entertainment, music, fun, celebrities and the seat of the pants feeling that anything can happen because it’s live. It's going to be one big party that will be as fun to watch as it will be to attend.”

Mel Fletcher, Executive Producer, Done + Dusted added: “We produced T4 On The Beach for 10 years and there is no better place to stage such an epic television event than Weston-super-Mare beach.

"The communities far and wide have showed great loyalty to this event, so we are thrilled to be bringing them something even bigger and better this year. The tickets are still so reasonably priced in comparison to other festivals, it’s such good value for money given how many acts and activities there are to enjoy – buy now, they’ll sell like hot cakes!”

Cllr Felicity Baker, Executive Member for Tourism, North Somerset Council commented: “We are delighted that Done + Dusted are bringing Summer Sets On The Beach to Weston and building on the fantastic track record we have of hosting major music events.

"This promises to be a huge event to top off the summer and we are really looking forward to welcoming thousands of people to the beach to enjoy the show and everything that the town has to offer.”

I'm really pleased they're keeping this event going even if it's under a different name now, it's one of the best pop related shows in the calendar. I love watching it every year but I've never been - I've had friends who've been to T4 on the Beach in the past including my sister and she said it's good fun.

I hope Olly and/or The Saturdays are on the bill for this!

What a DREADFUL logo.
This is taking place on the same date as the Fusion Festival (which I'm going to). A bit gutted I'll be missing this actually! :(

I bet they're going to have a really predictable list of performers:

The Saturdays

Rita Ora

Jessie J

Olly Murs

Little Mix

Will.i.am

Nicole Scherzinger

was just on ticketmaster, and noticed this has been canceled due to poor ticket sales.. it'd only been on sale a week :o

I know, they announced on Friday it was cancelled. I'd blame the reason for that being on not announcing the big name acts first to that would sell tickets so really it's their own fault. T4 always made sure the big names were announced first. Shame cause I was looking forward to seeing this.
