May 7, 201312 yr ahhh! soo excited for this hopefully with Pharrell on board this could do well for her :)
May 7, 201312 yr Pharrell's latest collabs have been great so hoping this is good YungRap is still growing on me!
May 7, 201312 yr I'm surprised by this, for one thing because WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS AMOR and for another, I'm surprised they're not trying to brush 'Yung Rapunxel' under the carpet  I expect this to be far more accessible than YR, which can only be a good thing.
May 7, 201312 yr Pharrell performed the song a while ago. It definitely sounds more mainstream-friendly than Yung Rapunxel, but less so than 212.
May 7, 201312 yr ndkRWu31FgQ You can hear a bit at 1:03 - I think it sounds alright from that but I am sure it will sound very different when we hear all of it.
May 8, 201312 yr ndkRWu31FgQ You can hear a bit at 1:03 - I think it sounds alright from that but I am sure it will sound very different when we hear all of it. It sounds so good! I can't wait for the full thing! That's 3 great Pharrell songs in a month :L
May 8, 201312 yr 'Yung Rapunxel' was a #152 smash. She had potential and I did expect her to be huge after '212', but she's killed her own career SO spectacularly over the past few months.
May 9, 201312 yr I think this whole "she killed her own career" talk is ridiculous. If the media, radio etc support the likes of Chris Brown after what he did, they're hardly going to care about what Azealia gets up to on Twitter. At the end of the day, '212' peaked in popularity over a year ago now and it has taken Azealia and her team so long to follow it up. 'Yung Rapunxel' is a great track but commercial it is not and that is the reason she's failed so far to repeat the success of '212' - not because of her own personality...

If she makes another great song which has that cross-over edge that '212' then it will be a hit. I don't think enough of the general public even know about Azealia's twitter 'antics', it was hardly front page news, so I can't see it deterring the casual music buyers from her music. It is all down to the songs whether she is able to have another hit again anytime soon. I am hoping with Pharrell on it, this could be the one.

I was actually mainly referring to her waiting ridiculously long to capitalise on the success of '212', although yes her personalty is a part of it also.

But I wouldn't have said she had that big a career to keep alive, she has only had one hit. I don't see why if she doesn't release another song with cross-over appeal why the gap between this and '212' will matter. She is still starting her career and relevantly new so I don't think hype will be hard to make back up if the songs are right. Edited May 9, 201312 yr by Davidson
May 10, 201312 yr I was actually mainly referring to her waiting ridiculously long to capitalise on the success of '212', although yes her personalty is a part of it also. From a lot of your previous posts about Azealia and how she "killed her career", I just assumed you were talking about her Twitter beef.
May 10, 201312 yr Cannot wait for this. Pharrell's feature should hopefully ensure it's a radio friendly hit, we need Azealia back in the charts!

Most Pharrell songs aren't radio friendly really (not for today's radio anyway, and most of what he's done in the past few years have stayed as album tracks). I guess it's just coincidence with the two at the moment, although maybe his name on the song will get it more attention now.
