August 23, 200618 yr It's about nobends all trying to look the same with the same generic haircut and spray on jeans, quite frankly 90% of emos are c**ts and they're not even emo, most of them are just scene kids who are going to abandon it when the next new craze comes along. I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head LP, and they all shop in the same two or three shops in the Camden Market as well. The Punks who congregate at the Lock play a great game with them - who can throw the most beer/cider at the Emo Kids and spoil their 'nice' haircuts.....  It's quite amusing to watch... Me and a few mates used to go around shouting "Spot the Spooky kid" at them, one of them turned around and said to us "We're not Spooky Kids, we're Emo".....  Hilarious.....
August 23, 200618 yr Author Well, they dont really. The "Emotional Hardcore" music stems from a love of US Hardcore Punk (Black Flag, Bad Brains, Anti-Flag, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, etc) and British Indie bands like The Smiths, The Fall or The Cure and trying to fuse the two things together. Et voila, you get Husker Du, Jimmy Eat World, AFI or At The Drive-In when it's at its best, not buckets of whiny, kiddie pish like MCR, Tokio Hotel and their ilk..... then i dont get it.... how can it be 'emotional' when it doesnt compare to the blues?.... think its a young persons concept , ignoring history.
August 23, 200618 yr then i dont get it.... how can it be 'emotional' when it doesnt compare to the blues?.... think its a young persons concept , ignoring history. Well, in the sense that quite often Emo band lyrics go on about their significant others treating them like sh!t or dumping them, I suppose it could compare to the old Blues lyrical standards of "My woman done left me"...

August 23, 200618 yr The emo boys at my school have now started wearing girls tight jeans. :puke: heavy metal stars of the 80's did that, well nearley skin tight. Except they had a leather jacket as well and looked cool as **** B)
August 25, 200618 yr Actually, the more I think about it, perhaps the term "Emo" has been taken, in part, from cult American comedian Emo Phillips who was big in the late '80s/early '90s..... Emo kids have stupid hairstyles (that has been established), Emo Phillips had a rather strange hairstyle as well to make him appear freakish and odd....

August 30, 200618 yr There is no point to them they want to be 'different', want to act 'oh I'm going to kill myself cos my life stinks', 'I'm such a fukked up teenager pay attention to me or I'LL DIE'...blah blah c**p. Well when these stupid kids grow up they won't be 'EMO'S' they would have grown up then, can anyone see a grown man/woman dressing like a t*** honestly? No. I'm all for killing them, it saves them doing it themselves. Edited August 30, 200618 yr by Daylight Dancer

August 30, 200618 yr Haha, I knew there was a reason why I don't read the Daily Mail. That articles probably one of the most retarded things I've ever read. Hahahahaha, Although Goths are from the same family tree as punks, they are a lot less fun to be with Edited August 30, 200618 yr by Chemical_Halo
August 30, 200618 yr Author "Many of the alluring women of our time - Nigella Lawson, Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Lily Allen - have a touch of the Goth about them. " what a load of bollox!!! lol.. only chrissie hynde (pretenders) could vaguely be discribed as 'having a touch of goth about them'... sophie ellis bextor?... pmsl. debbie harry?... i can never recall seeing debs in anything remotely 'goth'.
August 30, 200618 yr Author shes right about the family tree though.. goth was accidentally created by siouxsie sioux, who is probably the queen of punk, and godmother of 'goth'.

August 31, 200618 yr I find the whole "emo" genre irritating. There is not one good band amongst them. Why is this music selling by the shedloads? It bugs me that great bands like Crimea, Guillemots & Hope Of The States are not getting a look in, whilst adolescents are buying $h1t by Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco & Funeral For A Friend etc. On a MTV2 they had two members of Fall Out Boy select 10 Morrissey/Smiths videos. Yet their knowledge on the legend that is "Mozzer" was shockingly poor. They did not know the name of "the guitarist dude" in the Smiths ffs. "Yeah. Like. Morrissey's. Lyrics. Are. Aweeee-sssommee". :arrr: :arrr: It is bad enough that an act that I hate claims to have been inspired by Morrissey, but I was not going to stay up & watch two of Panic! At the Disco select 10 of their favourite Cure videos. :puke2: That is another thing that bugs me about "emos" - why do they speak each word as if it is part of a separate sentence? :arrr:
