Agnetha's Album, is not only her 1st UK Top 10 Solo Album, but it also stops ABBA from

getting a 458th Week in the Top 75. Gold has to be content to be at No.76, this Week.

(It will likely be in the Top 75 next Week).

It is The Number Of The Beast, for ABBA, this Week - Gold's 666th Top 100 Week.....

QUESTION - It has taken Agnetha almost 30 Years to have a Top 10 Solo Album, in the UK.

(Her first UK Solo Album, Wrap Your Arms Around Me, entered the Charts in June 1983).

Can anyone tell me which Act has taken as long - or longer - between their first Hit Album,

& their first Top 10 Album?

ROD STEWART

It is ironic that a member of ABBA is in the Top 10, when he has his 8th No.1 Album.

In October 1976, his previous No.1 Studio Album - A Night On The Town - replaced ABBA's Greatest Hits at No.1.

In December 1979, his previous No.1 Album - Greatest Hits - replaced ABBA's Greatest Hits Vol.2 at No.1

The ABBA Album then returned to No.1 - displacing Rod - on W/E 12th January 1980. So, until this Week,

- W/E 25th May 2013 - Rod has not been at No.1, in the UK Album Chart, since W/E 5th January 1980.

Simon - I asked the Question to find out the answer. I haven't a clue who it is!

I'm finding that one very hard to research.

It can't be Vera Lynn, as although she had 3 Hits, in the very first UK Singles Chart, (November 1952),

she did not have her first Hit Album until November 1981. It was a No.25 Hit. She had her first Top 10

Album in September 2009 - a No.1. So, her first Top 10 Album was not far off 28 Years, since her first

Hit Album. It has taken Agnetha, (as a Solo Artist), almost 30 Years, to have a Top 10 Album.

If somebody has a full albums chart database then it should be easy enough to find out the answer to the question. Unfortunately I don't have that database so I can only try random guesses.

I've just tried another one and can beat Agnetha! Doris Day had her first hit album in 1979 but didn't make the top ten until 2011. Of course, she may have had a top ten album earlier in her career if the chart had existed.

As Rod Stewart has his 8th UK No.1 Album:,

MALE SOLO ARTISTS - THE MOST UK No.1 ALBUMS

(Weeks At No.1 in Brackets)

1) ELVIS PRESLEY - 11 (63W)

2) ROBBIE WILLIAMS - 10 (30W)

3)=MICHAEL JACKSON - 9 (30W) @@@

3)=DAVID BOWIE - 9 (23W)

3)=BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - 9 (15W)

6) ROD STEWART - 8 (28W)

7)=CLIFF RICHARD - 7 (30W)

7)=ELTON JOHN - 7 (29W)

7)=BOB DYLAN - 7 (24W)

10)=PHIL COLLINS - 6 (26W)

10)=EMINEM - 6 (23W)

10)=PAUL McCARTNEY//PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS - 6 (15W) %%%

10)=GEORGE MICHAEL - 6 (15W)

@@@ = Includes 1 No.1, as Michael Jackson Plus The Jackson Five - 3 No.1 Weeks

%%% = Paul McCartney had a 7th No.1 Album - Venus & Mars, (1975 - 2 Weeks at No.1).

However, I've not included it, in his Total, as it was only credited to Wings. I have included

Ram, (1971 - 2 Weeks), as it was co-credited to Paul & Linda
