June 17, 201312 yr I disliked 'Now You're Gone' at the time, I don't mind it so much now but actually much prefer his follow-ups (although 'Every Morning' was pretty shite and 'Saturday' wasn't great either). I wonder if he'll ever return again, been an age since 'Saturday'. I think that he was arrested for sexual assault of some sort a few years ago?
June 17, 201312 yr "Doctor Jones". I do have to admit "The Final Countdown" is way higher than I thought it would be. :o
June 17, 201312 yr 'Name Aqua's charting singles', was a question on Pointless earlier, hilarious! As if average Joe would know anything but 'the big three'. I far prefer Doctor Jones to Barbie Girl but Turn Back Time was glorious.
June 17, 201312 yr 'Name Aqua's charting singles', was a question on Pointless earlier, hilarious! As if average Joe would know anything but 'the big three'. I far prefer Doctor Jones to Barbie Girl but Turn Back Time was glorious. I got a pointless answer, but it was for Roxette - "The Big L".
June 17, 201312 yr I got a pointless answer, but it was for Roxette - "The Big L". It was such a perfect question for me, I'd have got loads of pointless answers, I'm like a walking encyclopedia of useless chart peaks!
June 17, 201312 yr It was such a perfect question for me, I'd have got loads of pointless answers, I'm like a walking encyclopedia of useless chart peaks! Me too! Basically any question with UK Top 40 hits for.. or Number 1 singles of the 90s, or even best selling artists of the 21st Century and it is a Pointless bonanza. :D

DON’T YOU WORRY CHILD- Swedish House Mafia Featuring John Martin (632,000) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/00/Dont-you-worry-child-swedish-house-mafia.jpg/220px-Dont-you-worry-child-swedish-house-mafia.jpg RELEASED: 2012 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 13 So onto the most recent addition to this list and the sixth, and it would appear final, release from SHM. It debuted emphatically at the No 1 position late last year racking up sales of over 300k in just three weeks before ending up one of the top 20 hits of last year. THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL- Abba (634,000) http://www.vinylclocks.com/wp-content/uploads/ab.jpg RELEASED: 1980 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 10 With an original title of “The Story Of My Life” this isn’t, as is popularly thought, about the divorce between Ulvaeus and Faltskog, but the topic of divorce in general. Often cited as an example of their great songwriting ability the track returned the group to no 1 for the first time in 2 years, it was also the only Abba song to hit the top after just 14 days on sale. June 18, 201312 yr The ABBA and Swedish House Mafia tracks. Although "Don't You Worry Child" is probably top 5 if we're talking up to the present day.
June 18, 201312 yr The Winner Takes It All is one of ABBA's best songs! It's probably their third-most defining hit behind Dancing Queen and Mamma Mia, but I do find those songs a little overrated (in real life of course, TWTIA is deservedly praised on Buzzjack more than those 2) Don't You Worry Child  It's hard to say which SHM song out of One, Greyhound and this is my personal favourite, as they are all amazing in their own ways.

It's probably their third-most defining hit behind Dancing Queen and Mamma Mia, but I do find those songs a little overrated (in real life of course, TWTIA is deservedly praised on Buzzjack more than those 2) Not all the time, I remember they did an ABBA's Greatest Songs programme on ITV and TWTIA came 1st! I also think The Day Before You Came finished in the top three.
June 18, 201312 yr I LOVE Don't You Worry Child and its most certainly amongst my favourite dance songs of recent years, its just a shame that the radio just won't give up on it. This one is especially annoying as its really ruining the 'bowing out' feel of it as that was one of my favourite things about it.
June 18, 201312 yr Don't You Worry Child still sounds fantastic; definitely their best hit so it's so great it's their biggest, so many memories of the first year of uni with that now. The Winner Takes It All is one of my favourite ABBA songs too, I'm guessing that's their highest hit on here?
June 18, 201312 yr The Winner Takes It All is one of my favourite ABBA songs too, I'm guessing that's their highest hit on here? There's still one more, but I shant spoil it. ;)
June 18, 201312 yr There's still one more, but I shant spoil it. ;) Oh yeah, of course. Forgot about that one, but then I don't have their chart history memorised.
June 18, 201312 yr The Winner Takes It All is iconic, maybe my favourite song of the 1980s, although it would be a close run thing with Madonna's Like A Prayer. It lay the template for schlager ballads, Waterloo laying the template for the rest of the genre  Steps were clearly influenced by it as both One For Sorrow and After The Love Has Gone, as well as H & Claire's All Out Of Love sound exactly like it in terms of either melody or structure.
June 19, 201312 yr Very similar sales for : 1. Iconic "The Winner Takes It All" 2. Forgetable horror "Don't You Worry Child" Not very similar anymore seeing as DYWC has sold 200k more copies since the end of 2012

ALL THAT SHE WANTS- Ace Of Base (644,000) http://andys-backing-tracks.webs.com/ace_of_base-all_that_she_wants.jpg YEAR: 1993 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 16 Spending a pretty impressive 12 weeks in the top 3 stateside without making the top, it took just 3 weeks to hit No 1 here. It became, for a time, the best seller of 93 and completed a reggae (broadly speaking) top 3 with UB40 and Inner circle in what became a golden year for the genre. June 19, 201312 yr Author 05. COTTON EYE JOE- Rednex (781,000) http://www.virginmedia.com/images/cotton-eye-joe-300x300.jpg YEAR: 1994 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 16 A song dating back to the 19th century in its original form it first made it onto the charts thanks to the Moody Brothers in the 80s though it wasn’t released over here. The Rednex therefore had the “honour” of introducing the track to us here in the UK where it took advantage of a cold January lull to hit the top. SWE: 1 NOR: 1 VcDy8HEg1QY
