2007 was a bottom of Eurovision. Everything in that contest was awful : winner, full results, quality of the most songs and perfomances, neighbours voting.

ONLY 2 ENTRIES were good (United Kingdom and Ireland)

Only your love for Dervish's song can save your awful music taste. :)

Scooch

It was everything to win. :cheer:

The one from 3 missed links (another two : Deuce and Friends) in the wonderful chain of true ESC winners : ABBA - Brotherhood Of Man - Bucks Fizz...

I officially CAN'T at so many countries deciding to be all CREATIVE and shit and send a mix of hipster/jokey/wouldn't-touch-it-with-valentina-monettas-vagina/MoR/club banger/cock rock crap.

So much dullness this year but it's NOT AN ODD NUMBER. It's supposed to be a GOOD YEAR! come awwwn

and once again, RIP Saule Riet, would-be winner of Eurovision 2014

Saule riet would've been EONS ABOVE everything else this year. STUPID FUCKING LATVIANS

As it goes, I'm in agreement that Malta are definitely one to watch. That Mumford sound'll have quite a big voting base, and I can see the juries taking to it too. Not EVERYTHING can be analysed with regards to previous Eurovision entries Pavel.

I had been starting to think this is the lowest quality year for a while, but with all the new music videos and song versions being released today everything has started to sound so much better! I think by the time we get to Eurovision in May, this year will definitely be of a similar standard of recent contests which have all been great!
Definitely? I'm still waiting on a big obvious highlight of the year, which every year going back to about 1992 has had. No matter how many 5/10s turn out to be 7/10s over the next couple of months, without a big highlight I can cheer on (other than Molly, but even then that's more down to us standing a chance and sending something contemporary for once rather than me going crazy for the song) this'll easily be the worst year in a long time for me.

Also I've just realised we only have two entries at the moment, Italy and Montenegro, that contain no English assuming Albania's new version is in English as expected. And according to Wikipedia, only 4 songs contain another language as well as English (Israel, Poland, Slovenia and Spain). This must be one of the contests with the most English language entries since the rule change allowing countries to sing in any language was reintroduced?
Well I guess it's all subjective isn't it? Before close of play I've got Undo, Children of the Universe, Running, Coming Home, To The Sky, Dancing In The Rain and, best of all, Cake To Bake as eternal keepers. Am I putting on a brave face? Possibly. Am I easily pleased? Maybe. Have I lost track of what my point is? Certainly.

Undo and Children Of The Universe will definitely both go on my playlists of the future but there's nothing beyond those two for me at the moment. There's an element of patriotism with the latter, but it's a great song that I'd love regardless of who sent it. I don't think I've ever disliked a song by Sanna.

That said, I do have years where I only have one big standout and little else, so at least there are two this year for me (at least). Beyond Euphoria in 2012, nothing else even made my EOY top 30! Although I wasn't really that bothered seeing as Euphoria was more than enough to satisfy me. And in 2010, Satellite was the only Eurovision entry in my EOY top 30 - again it was my EOY #1 so I wasn't too phased about the lack of anything else amazing. Other years I'll have three Eurovision entries ending up in my EOY top 10!

Swedish Itunes

6. Sanna Nielsen - Undo

51. Basim - Cliche Love Song

94. The Common Linnets - Calm After the Storm (Radio Edit)

They know what's up :kink:

Only 3 entries confirmed with an other language than English, and I don't think Austria and Russia will send something in their languages.

5 entries are partly in English and their own language.

The Head of Delegations meeting is currently ongoing and Denmark have just drawn the 23rd position in the final. That means only 2 second-half draws will be available for the Big 5.

Also, provisional dates for the 2015 contest are 12th, 14th and 16th May 2015.

Lucky c**ts!
I've been reliving 2011, the holy trinity of Popular, What About My Dreams and the life enhancing No One *.* Also The Secret Is Love, Rockerfeller a Street and (for shame) Lipstick <3 And that's just in the final, I still refuse to accept the injustice of Haba Haba not qualifying, I Love Belarus and Ding Dong too :(

Denmark's worth a punt now in all honesty.

Yes, I'm thinking it's definitely in with a massive chance of coming top 5 now. It's incredibly catchy, even after one listen in the Danish national final I was singing it in my head without realising! And even now just thinking about it I can't stop singing it, I'd say it's probably the catchiest song in the whole contest so it's definitely going to be memorable and with such a late draw, it works perfectly.

1974 is my favourite year. Not only because ABBA and "Waterloo". 5 songs were included in my all-time Eurovision Top 100.

Apparently the semi-final running orders will be announced on March 24th, but I'm not sure what the source is for that. It was the end of March last year I think, and considering Eurovision is earlier this year, this date could make sense.
