Was walking around town listening to 5 live on my phone. At 5-3 down in the second I nearly turned it off in disgust! :lol:

High drama in both the fourth round women's matches at the moment - Lisicki takes the first set 6-2 against Serena (!) and Kanepi just edges Robson 7-6 with a tie break in their first set.

 

Robson out. She had a good tournament though.

Yup. If she can carry on making improvement (esp on the consistency of her serve) she can be a QFs quality player by next year.

 

Serena Williams out. Tremendous game from Sabine Lisicki. :wub:

Lisicki defeats Serena 6-2 1-6 6-4.

Fantastic tournament from Laura Robson, she was very close to winning those 2 sets too against Kanepi!

 

I am so so so happy for Sabine Lisicki, incredible win over Serena Williams! Well done to both players as it's one of the best tennis matches I've ever seen and Sabine is such a brilliant player, always smiling and you can tell how much it meant to her! A massive well done to Sabine!

With the way seeds are dropping I wouldn't be surprised to see either Djokovic or Murray go out today.

Can only add to what's been said, Lisicki is one of, if not my favourite woman in the women's game at the moment, and she certainly matched Serena today (although Serena didn't look at her best). Delighted for her.

DRAMA on centre court tonight! Murray was desperately clinging on for a long time there before he wrestled control of the match back from two sets down. A real marathon of nerves and endurance from both players, that one.

 

That was some SERIOUS heart in mouth stuff, unbelievably tense - but WHAT a comeback. His second set was piss poor, didn't think he'd pick it up, but what a testament to Murray as a player. Fantastic.

Verdasco had a very good serve.

His second serve was just as incredible, often as fast Murray's first serve - and definitely one of the most important factors in that game.

I agree, fantastic match and just as tense as the match yesterday! Lisicki is obviously a fans favourite and should have the fans support in the final! Love her!
