Posted June 19, 201213 yr So 'When She Was Mine' went top 5. Quite surprised and pleased with that. Just wait until you hear the next single though - it's called 'Taking Over Me' and was played for the first time on In Demand radio tonight. It's probably even better than the last single and it has this epic 'OOOOH WOOOOOH' bit on it - it's released 29th July. Album to follow after that! This is a recent performance they did of it at King's Cross St. Pancra's (I was at this show): uFKE6ZV4GE8 Edited June 19, 201213 yr by ThePensmith
June 20, 201213 yr Taking Over Me is definitely better than When She Was Mine, I really think everything about this band is completely spot on except the music itself which is just average to me. Edited June 20, 201213 yr by Electro Paradise
June 21, 201213 yr Author 'Taking Over Me' was 'Song of the Day' on Popjustice yesterday...I've actually decided this is my favourite single of the year so far now. Who can deny that chorus?
July 5, 201213 yr Author Firstly - BEHOLD. The single cover for 'Taking Over Me'. Video premieres tomorrow on their YouTube/VEVO/whatever it is the kids call it now... Secondly - the single's being released not only on download BUT also on rather swish SIGNED limited edition CD single and 7" picture disc, tracklistings/pre-order of which are as follows: CD (http://bit.ly/TakingOverCD) 1. Taking Over Me 2. Still Hurts (new b-side) 7" Picture Disc (http://bit.ly/TakingOverPictureDisc) Side A: Taking Over Me Side B: Taking Over Me (Wideboys Club Mix) They posted up aforementioned Wideboys mix on their YouTube the other day. Makes it even more epic if I say so myself! WaMKg789SZE Edited July 5, 201213 yr by ThePensmith
July 6, 201213 yr Author Official video for 'Taking Over Me'...I can't be the only one who cares about this song and how amazing it is, surely? uqsSKINniQQ
July 9, 201213 yr Now these guy's are good! Found by Ashley Tabor again, he is definitely onto a winner...Great A&R guy's behind these!
July 9, 201213 yr Looking forward to hearing what these guys have come up with on the song that Gary Barlow wrote with them
July 10, 201213 yr When She Was Mine was a total yawnfest, but Taking Over Me is GREAT! It's like one of those proper 90s sing along pop rock songs, like BBMak or something. It came up as a YouTube advert the other day. I think this could be a #1, or at least another top 5. That said, they could use one or two incredibly hot guys.
July 10, 201213 yr Author I think what's going for them is that they're actually a lot more personable than The Wanted and have way better songs than them. I've heard the majority of their demos and they're all really promising!
July 31, 201212 yr Author The single's out on Sunday then...I'd really love them to get number 1 with this but I do worry about those Wiley and Calvin Harris/Example records (which for some inexplicable reason are both popular). They did quite a good performance of this on T4 at the weekend just gone, hopefully they'll do a bit more TV next week for it...they're doing some signings at HMV Newcastle and HMV Sheffield next week too I believe... EDIT: Apparently they're on 'This Morning' next Wednesday performing! Edited July 31, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
August 3, 201212 yr Author Out in Ireland and already at #6 with the EP on their iTunes album charts and #67 on their main songs chart. I really want this to be number 1!
August 4, 201212 yr Really good second choice of single. Should go top10 easily. Can't wait for their album. They remind me a bit of Scouting for Girls!!
August 5, 201212 yr Author #11 on iTunes and the EP's #3 :) I'd so love a number 1 but I have a feeling everyone will be flocking to that Wiley record - ironic when the weather's anything but a heatwave atm!
August 9, 201212 yr Author #2 in midweeks...so not too far off what I was predicting! Hope it stays there for Sunday or at least #3 :)
August 10, 201212 yr It was #3 in the midweeks on Wednesday. Down to #5 on iTunes, so I'm guessing a #3 or #4 come Sunday. Think Red Lights' surge has come too late in the week to make them dip further than that.
August 12, 201212 yr Author Officially the highest new entry at #3 this week! Went one better than 'When She Was Mine'...so proud of them. They announced on Radio 1 tonight that they're doing a tour in November - will definitely be going to that!
