It surely can't fail to hit #1, it only needs to shift about 15k at most I should think!

Im a bit skeptical that Halcyon Days will go to #1. Bright Lights entered at 24 or something like that but it was at Christmas. I think it shifted 20k ish.

Having said that, 20k could still get a number one, and Burn is more reflective of the new EP, where as Your Song wasnt.

She's announced a three date arena tour for next March, Nottingham, Liverpool and London only! Just bought tickets for the Nottingham show through the pre-sale.

This really isn't good :(

The bonus tracks are all a step down from Halcyon which still sounds incredible and half of them are just annoying or utterly forgettable. Burn took a while for me to properly enjoy so hopefully the rest follows suit but right now i'm inclined to just turn off after the standard album finishes.

There are some good moments (Goodness Gracious, Burn, Under Control and How Will I Love You especially) but I agree with a few people it's a bit lackluster overall. Burn was just about acceptable as a more mainstream direction, but whilst a lot of this is good it just feels like it could have been done by any random slightly alternative/dubstep influenced female starting out, I completely agree with what's been said. That said, it isn't a bad EP all things considered.

I have a feeling this forum has NO idea what dubstep is. Figure 8 is not dubstep, Under control is dub step. Nothing ellie has released has EVER been dubstep.

Ellie has released a music video for 'How Long Will I Love You' which is being used as part of the soundtrack for the film 'About Time'.

Is this going to be a single? I think it's a cute song, but I don't see it as a single - it's not that catchy.

I was pleasantly surprised by "Halcyon Days", the response here led me to expect bad things. I think "Burn" is still the only one that doesn't feel like her sound. Some of the other tracks sound like they belong on a different album because they're a bit more upbeat than the parent album, but I find them believable. My favourites are "Goodness Gracious", "You My Everything" and "Stay Awake".

I don't think so, it's just a promotional single for the film I think!

Ellie's insatiable desire for making soundtrack songs has been temporarily satiated by doing a song for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack! Listen to a preview here:

It's rather good, much better than anything on the re-release this topic is about and shows the random generic shit direction probably isn't permanent.

HLWILY is still top 10, there is no rush.

I have to agree.

Despite not listening to Halcyon Days.

I hope they finally come to their senses and release My Blood as the next single, though I doubt it'll do any better than Figure 8 did.

Halcyon is a creative, personal and accomplished album with no care given to commercial success. Halcyon Days is uninspired shite that has yielded her worst two singles to date and is nothing but a desperate commercial move. There's no artistic merit in it.
Halcyon Days is just more to my tastes I guess. I wouldn't say it's uninspired, it's just more commercial sounding and a step away from Halcyon, which I like but for the most part I only revisit the singles. I'd happily listen to most of Halcyon Days again and again, Tessellate's the only one I'm not massively fussed on I think.
