Posted July 12, 201311 yr Hi I thought it might be good to do a topic on what TT fans would like to see coming up from the band in the future and aside from the obvious a new studio album!! The list can have even trivial things on it such as 'TT get a UK Christmas #1 etc'. Mine would be in no particular order: - Jason on a lead/partial lead single. All the other four have a singles track to them and Jason has shown he does well on acoustic folk type tracks surely one could be good enough as a single. He's arguably alongside Gary and Robbie the fans favourite member possibly. - TT get a UK Christmas #1. I know this is a trivial one but it would still be another minor achievement and they could easily come up with a Christmas track that stands some test of time i'd imagine. - Release Greatest Hits Vol 2. This of course doesn't spell the end but they have come a long way since BW and to me it just feels right to have put out Vol 2 whilst they are still in their reunion prime including Europe after Progress. 4 years is a long time to wait for a new album in music and for most is an entire career. - Release their post 2005 albums onto US ITunes and any new ones in the future. In a lot of American polls and shows like Billboard and e! channel '15 most awesomest boybands' etc TT are ranked high amazingly despite the fact it's so hard to get their music in the States so clearly there is a demand. With the Olympics and the band being shown on NBC singing 'Rule the World' twitter users from the States were reminiscing about 'Back For Good' which went top 10 there and commenting how great RTW is. It's not the 90's anymore and the US charts aren't so rigid and closed off to foreign artists as they were when TT were first out. An album could be a slow burner and do surprisingly well. I don't understand why their reunion albums aren't on there if they don't sell a lot in the US surely the fact they sell 4-5 million worldwide means it isn't such a risk to put them on US iTunes. Backstreet Boys and NSYNC have made many references to TT about being inspired by them/seeing how massive across Europe they were when both bands came over in 1995. Even BSB new 5 man album has been inspired by TT and I think that alongside their huge popularity in the UK and British NKOTB tag has made them well known in the US to a certain extent. Those are just a few off the top of head will be interesting to see what others think! Edited July 12, 201311 yr by nirvanamusic
July 13, 201311 yr I agree with the US iTunes inclusion! No idea why they aren't at least available over there, i'd also like to see them do a bit of promo over in the US (never going to happen but we can hope!) A Gary solo album - love to hear how he has moved on from 12 months and open road and how he would speak about the experiences he's had since the early 00's in a solo record Trivial things would be to actually schedule the single release with the promo and video properly etc all complimenting the first week sales in particular to get a no.1 rather than the ridiculous promo and marketing scheduling for Progress singles id also love the new album to have a BW chart success with it's singles doing just as well - hope they have a killer commercial second single as well as having that for the lead single Maybe a feature as well at some point as well with a big name to ramp up airplay and maybe more global attention. Gaga said for example that she'd love to write with Gary etc - you get my drift. Take That featuring Beyonce would be interesting!!! Edited July 13, 201311 yr by jay727
July 16, 201311 yr A Christmas number 1 would be great and i think if they worked hard on producing a seasonal song it could do it for them. I am not sure about a Jason lead single but partial maybe ok, that would be a huge fulfillment for him. I really believe they need another Howard lead vocal on a single luck how huge and memorable Never forget is and is one of their signature singles. I totally agree about coherent promotion and marketing around the singles as it has been all messed up and handled terribly since the release of Greatest Day. From a solo perspective a Gary solo album would be lovely especially to see the direction he would take. Howard needs to do that solo single seeing his previous work never got released. Mark to continue his solo work but achieve a good selling single and album would be something to achieve. I am not sure about a collaboration with Robbie already drifting in and out covers that, but if they did i could see them dueting with someone like Elton John over Beyonce. Something i would love to see them achieve is beat Oasis opening sales of standing on the shoulders of giants.
