YAY at Bad winning, definitely his best studio album. HIStory probably narrowly sees it out for me on strength of new material and then the obvious HITZ to boot.

Back onto the singles and into the top 5, you have officially rated

as your favourite single from Dangerous (WHAT!?). The one thing that stands out for this track is most definitely that stomping opening when all the instruments crash together and the song is turned up to the max. It seemed to divide a few of people here, and it definitely sticks out like a fairly sore thumb for a majority of the album, but as a standalone single it is a raucous high flier with as infectious a chorus as you can get. The first single to be released off the album, it was a huge commercial success scoring yet another transatlantic #1 and setting the campaign off to a flying start. I'm quite shocked it managed to peak so high here, especially with that limp rap that splurges out in the middle of it. but it seems you're loving Michael's shifting tones more than i thought.

H8ers to the left pls thnx :P

'Black Or White' is a fantastic pop song imo. Being part of the MTV generation, when the music video premiered in late 1991 *.* I'd rather have the video to 'Black Or White' over the flashy high budget but bleh 'Scream' video.

Very close between Bad and Thriller! It did seem clear it would be out of these two albums. I've not heard any of his studio albums, but I think I may give them ago.

Black or White

I didn't rate the albums as I haven't listened to any of them in full, but judging by the singles released from the eras I prefer Thriller to Bad. I can't complain though as I knew Bad would win and it was closer than I thought.

Just avoid 'Invincible', that wasn't even an album. It was just so bad (apart from 'You Rock My World' which wasn't that bad in all fairness)

I haven't heard any songs off Invincible, and judging by the bad reviews I don't want to

You have to show them that you're really not scared

Amassing the exact same score as the song coming up next, one you 10 pointers had the power to change History forever! Alas,

has to settle for a non-top 3 placing, but still a considerable achievement for the song that actually received a lowly 1 point and yet managed to chart this highly! The third single from Thriller, the single was accompanied with a video following a theme that pertained to a lot of his music - bringing together angry and dissociated people through the power of dance and ridding them of their strife. The song that helped push the album it was taken from into dizzying heights and into the record books as the most purchased album of all time, it really deserves its place in the higher echelons of this rate. A guitar led fiery ballad of sorts, it is quite the typical MJ song bringing together all of his strengths into 4 minutes of explosive noise. An empowerment anthem and one of Michael's many feel-good-about-yourself tracks, you guys have rated this as your most empowering as it edges all other competition leaving a top 3 of criminals, ghouls and baby issues...
Thriller has to win. It may be an obvious choice but I don't curr. I'm not to fussed over which of the other two tracks should chart higher as I love both.
00000000001 Billie Jean

0000000002 Beat It

000000003 Smooth Criminal

00000004 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

0000005 Black Or White

000006 Don't Stop Till You Get Enough

00007 Thriller

0008 The Way You Make Me Feel

009 Man In The Mirror

10 Dirty Diana

Two out of my top 3 in the real top 3 is a great result! Despite Thriller 'only' finishing at #7 for me it's still amazing, so well done Buzzjack for your taste as the top 3 is amazing!

'Thriller' >>> 'Billie Jean' >>>>>> 'Smooth Criminal'.

'Smooth Criminal' is already far too high, it's a good song but for it to be ahead of so many much better songs is disappointing.

THERMO AND LIAMK GET LISTENING!

(and Invincible is fun!)

I'll check out all his post Off the Wall albums (including OTW). Anything before that is nice to listen to individually, but an album of them wouldn't be something I'd purchase.

Have you guys heard The Weeknd's version of Dirty Diana? If you haven't, CHECK IT OUT NOW

Oh wow I haven't heard it yet but I already can tell it will work brilliantly. The verses on 'The Morning' are DD-esque.

Buzzjack have truly disappointed me by placing 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Black & White' too high and 'Dirty Diana' too low.

This. 'Dirty Diana' is given too much hate here when it's one of my favourites, whereas I find the other two just good songs.

The love towards Bad in the UK is interesting.. Saleswise, It's up there with Thriller whereas everywhere in the world it's way behind, especially in the US. I adore both albums but I've sort of overplayed Thriller so enjoying Bad more at the moment.

HIStory is his most ambitious work though. Invincible is very mediocre, but Unbreakable, Speechless ( ) and Threatened are great songs in addition to the ones mentioned already.

Precisely. I'd even go further and say 'Dirty Diana' is my absolute favourite at this moment in time. From the riffs to Michael's emotional vocals in the third verse, it's just an incredible track all of the way through. I'd say 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Black or White' are more style over substance if I'm to be totally honest. Extremely overrated both in the real world and on here.

Taken from the biggest selling album of all time, title track

spooks its way into your top 3, but remains some considerable distance from the top 2. A signature hit every year now and the definitive Halloween anthem, it's a thrill and then some. A song so ingrained in our society, there's no escaping the iconic moves from a music video that set the bar insanely high for anyone to top. With the release of said music video, Michael made the art-form a full-blown spectacle by creating an event around the whole project even before it had premiered, leading companies to flood the funds in to try and get their paws on the short film; love it or loathe it, there is no denying the impact that the video had on future musical protegees and on the use of music videos to promote songs more widely. Audiences flocked in to get a glimpse of the King's new creation, and it did not disappoint with incredible make-up and costuming, terrifying ghouls and a ghastly Michael rocking the undead from their grave. The song itself is as extravagant as the music video, with a spooky narrative and huge chorus it's fun, frightening and flamboyant. And the best thing about it all? We get Michael back in the charts every year without fail. Overrated? Maybe. Overplayed? Definitely. Over-the-top? Spectacularly.
YAY. So happy with "Thriller" being 3rd, I don't mind which order the top two come now as "Smooth Criminal" and "Billie Jean" are two of his absolute best imo.
Of the 2 I'd definitely favour a Smooth Criminal win. Billie Jean is fine, but very overrated. Not that Smooth Criminal isn't too, just decidedly less so.
