I think this album starts really well and seems really promising, like some thought has gone into it. It's certainly more interesting than hearing her sing over a generic dance track. However, it is a bit boring and continues her string of weak album. At least this one doesn't have a stand out track that is 10x better than everything else.

 

Having said that, surprised she's selling so little. Not awful but thought she may have a bit more power.

I've listened a few times now and I can't lie. It's not her Tangled Up for me. 3 Words and A Million Lights are far stronger. This has 2 or 3 good songs, but overall it's really not the greatest of albums. I was hoping the fact I didn't like the two singles wasn't a sign...

Really starting to like this album, don't get me wrong it's not an incredible album but it definitely gets better with each list. Waiting For Lightening for some reason has really clicked with me! :wub:

Cheryl is a singles artist.

If there was some promotion for album it would've given it a better chance for top 3 though.

Well hopefully she won't just stop at 2 singles with this album and keep the campaign going on into the New Year.

 

I'd like to see 'Only Human' as a single around January/February time, I could see it being a big hit. Not sure if she'd do a 4th single, but I would go for 'Stars', I'm absolutely loving that at the moment.

As her first two singles of the office have reached number 1 there is no doubt a third single will get a release, if a third single meets reasonable success a fourth will also happen.

Surprised she's looking not to sell more than 25k by Sunday? Taylor is 600 copies behind, and looking to push Cheryl to #7 or lower. Hopefully CiN and weekend shopping with help her out though.

She's just done a gorgeous acoustic performance of 'Only Human' on Children In Need just. :heart:

OMG. She just sang 100% live on cin. You go girl!

And by the sounds of it FULLY LIVE too and she did VERY well, might I add. The song sounds a lot, lot better stripped back too.

This was so stunning, especially after that documentary. Great song choice, and she sang it live and you could tell she was very much into it. :wub:

I thought she did amazingly well. I was in tears with the video that had just gone before her performance and then was stunned into listening to her!

She was surprisingly very good with her version of Only Human tonight. People on twitter will always be critical. Especially yo-yo dieters like former Steps member Claire Richards who has been "live tweeting" Children in Need and tweeted "my ears are bleeding" during Cheryl's performance and is now denying it was about her as she hasn't been watching it and was about her four year old child who is screaming the house down.

That was great - not faultless by any means but one of the best live vocals I've heard from her and a big improvement on the 'Only Human Sessions' performance! The song is gorgeous and definitely a career best. Makes me wonder how things would have turned out had it been the second single and she performed it on X Factor. I'm not sure it would have managed #1 but I'd imagine her album sales would have been a fair bit stronger. Hopefully both the song and album get a good boost from this anyway.
