August 11, 201311 yr Not quite sure how Why Don't You Love Me got this high, it's a very nice track, but it doesn't deserve to beat Countdown, Best Thing I Never Had or Love On Top. If anything, I'm quite surprised If I Were A Boy got this high too, it's a very marmite track, and I have to admit I barely listen to it these days.
August 11, 201311 yr Author Only #13?! WTF? :o I thought this would be a contender for the win. Such an incredible song nonetheless and probably Beyonce's strongest single lyrically (unless I'm forgetting something obvious). The video also >>>>> 'Single Ladies'. Did it receive a lot of hate on here at the time or do you mean in general? I always thought it was positively received albeit completely overshadowed by 'Single Ladies'. On here of course! Buzzjack has always had a vendetta against Beyoncé.

Sasha Fierce' Highest rate: 10 (Liam, Marina XCX, O Mie d'Eliza & FührerWall) Lowest rate: 4 (Lovett) And the I Am... Sasha Fierce songs continue to drop like flies as "Broken-Hearted Girl" becomes the next casualty! Released as the fifth UK single from the album, it broke the album's top ten streak (although helped the parent album achieve its highest placing after almost a year of charting, to peak at #2, with the release of the Platinum Edition) and became Bey's lowest-charting 'official' single to-date. It's another beautiful ballad, with Beyoncé exploring the possibility of breaking up due to her lover's infidelity, despite not wanting to be left without him. It is piano-led and Bey's vocals remain as flawless as ever, with a string accompaniment. The music video is again monochrome and features Beyoncé wandering a beach in Malibu reminiscing about the relationship. I'm surprised that this finished higher than several other ballads, especially "Best Thing I Never Had" and "I Was Here"!
August 11, 201311 yr Broken Hearted Girl is actually a good few places than I expected! I love it though, probably in my Bey top 10 - if not just outside.
August 11, 201311 yr Being incredibly pedantic here but didn't IASF peak at #2 off the back of 'Sweet Dreams' in July? I remember being a bit disappointed that it was held off #1 only by Michael Jackson...or maybe I'm mixing it up with being annoyed that MJ was held off #1 by Cascada...
August 11, 201311 yr Wasn't a fan of Broken Hearted Girl at the time of its release but it's aged quite well. The build into the chorus is especially brilliant.

Sasha Fierce peaked at #2 behind The Essential on 16/8 whilst "Sweet Dreams" peaked at #5 on 9/8 (where it stayed for three weeks)! I Am... Sasha Fierce shot back up to #8 (from #53) when "Broken-Hearted Girl" peaked at #27 on 8/11 :P
August 12, 201311 yr Author w1rLZfAfQLM 11: "Listen" (8.300) From 'B'Day/Dreamgirls OST' Highest rate: 11 (Liam, Griff & Lukuzz) Lowest rate: 1 (Nick F1) And the final song to miss out on a top ten placing is the gorgeous "Listen", written for Beyoncé's role in 2006 musical Dreamgirls. The song is a beautiful R&B ballad, in which Beyoncé's character in the film, Deena Jones, sings to assert independence over her controlling husband. The production is particularly great, including the percussion, as it builds to an epic finale for the middle eight/final chorus. It was performed by Beyoncé with Alexandra Burke during the final of The X Factor's fifth series, which became one of the defining moments of 2008's television. It is thoroughly deserving of placing so high here as it's again one of her most emotional songs to-date. So that means we only have ten songs left to battle it out for the top position, but which of the following will it be?! Baby Boy (ft. Sean Paul) Beautiful Liar (with Shakira) Crazy In Love (ft. Jay-Z) Déjà Vu (ft. Jay-Z) End Of Time Halo Irreplaceable Naughty Girl Sweet Dreams Telephone (with Lady GaGa)
August 12, 201311 yr Listen should have definitely been top 10 :( I guess it's higher than I expected though so yay anyway. Irreplaceable ftw now definitely!
August 12, 201311 yr Author 8ucz_pm3LX8 10: "Baby Boy" ft. Sean Paul (8.313) From 'Dangerously In Love' Highest rate: 10 (Johnkm, HausofKubrick & THEO.) Lowest rate: 6 (Simon., Nick F1 & Eyes) First into the top ten is the sexy "Baby Boy", released as the second single from Beyoncé's début album. I never realised it was so popular as it seems to be overshadowed by "Crazy In Love", although I'm all for its popularity! It features Sean Paul who was very much the flavour of 2003 and is of his typical dancehall style, so much so that Beyoncé has adopted the Jamaican 'dutty wine' for live performances of this, including the sizzling Super Bowl XLVII halftime show earlier this year. It became a fourth straight UK top ten for Beyoncé and a second consecutive Billboard Hot 100 #1 single, staying there for a massive nine weeks!
August 12, 201311 yr I hope: 1. End Of Time 2. Déjà Vu (ft. Jay-Z) 3. Naughty Girl 4. Sweet Dreams 5. Beautiful Liar (with Shakira) 6. Telephone (with Lady GaGa) 7. Crazy In Love (ft. Jay-Z) 8. Halo 9. Irreplaceable But I think it'll go: 1. Crazy In Love (ft. Jay-Z) 2. Irreplaceable 3. Halo 4. Sweet Dreams 5. Naughty Girl 6. Déjà Vu (ft. Jay-Z) 7. Telephone (with Lady GaGa) 8. Beautiful Liar (with Shakira) 9. End Of Time
August 12, 201311 yr Author OJBfv9CHlcw 09: "End Of Time" (8.380) From '4' Highest rate: 10 (SceneofSIXCrimes, Marina XCX, FleetSeb, CallumTheSats4, Davidson & HausofKubrick) Lowest rate: 4 (FührerWall) R&Beyoncé seems to be falling quite fast now, as "End Of Time" is next to appear, despite receiving only one score below a 7! It was released as the fifth UK single from 4 and was an early favourite of mine, with clips of it leaking on line as early as May 2011. The full song didn't disappoint, although the first time I heard it was during Beyoncé's set at Glastonbury 2011, complete with storming dance routine (which you can see part of during the official live video incorporating various performances of the song). The production is very funk-based and heavily incorporates marching band drums, to set up the powerhouse that is to come. Despite being a bit of a fan favourite (as shown by its position here), it pretty much flopped worldwide which was a massive shame to leave the era on.
August 12, 201311 yr End of Time is my favourite from her in a LOONG time. Glad it got top 10 but still out too soon </3 Baby Boy still sounds as good as it did back then too.
August 12, 201311 yr 'End Of Time' should've been released between BTINH and LOT in my opinion. Such a missed opportunity.
August 13, 201311 yr Author RQ9BWndKEgs 08: "Déjà Vu" ft. Jay-Z (8.620) From 'B'Day' Highest rate: 11 (Simon.) Lowest rate: 6 (Jáhq) The penultimate song to feature Jay-Z is up next, the funk/soul lead single taken from Bey's second album, "Déjà Vu". The instrumentation is very mixed, including bass guitar and hi-hat, with each being inducted during Beyoncé in the introduction, although the beat is from a drum machine. The lyrics talk about a woman being constantly reminded of a past lover, referring it to be 'déjà vu'. The song was remixed by the Freemasons for the "Green Light" Freemasons EP in 2007, which I assume is part of the reason why this has placed so highly, although I do like it very much myself without being overly familiar with the remix. It becames Beyoncé's second UK solo #1 single in August 2006 and first from the B'Day album.
August 13, 201311 yr Unpopular opinion here but I would choose 'Deja Vu' (the original version, not the remix) over 'Crazy In Love' anyday. It was the song I was overplaying on my mp3 player throughout the summer of 2006 - along with 'Unfaithful'. Edited August 13, 201311 yr by SceneofSIXCrimes
August 13, 201311 yr Author RZuJ_OHBN78 07: "Naughty Girl" (8.771) From 'Dangerously In Love' Highest rate: 11 (Nick F1) Lowest rate: 6 (Conderella) At #7 is the second-highest song taken from Beyoncé's début album and another dancehall-inspired sexy R&B number. The song samples Donna Summer's "Love To Love You Baby" in its hook and contains lyrics that are a celebration of sexual lust and conquest, making for an steamy music video which features one of 2004's biggest superstars, Usher! It's one of my favourite Beyoncé songs and I'm rather surprised that it's so well-liked on here as well, as as with "Baby Boy", I feel it gets overshadowed a lot of the time. Beyoncé performed it during her set at Glastonbury 2011, incorporating more of the Asian elements to the song, which again remains one of my favourite live performances of hers.
August 13, 201311 yr Damn Listen at #11 my personal #1! I don't think End of Time is deserving of a top 10 placing. Sweet Dreams or Crazy In Love to win now.
