It's so ridiculously tight in the football league. Half of the league could realistically go down - it's the exact same in League 2. All it takes is 3/4 wins and you're about safe. On the other hand a poor run of form then you risk being cut adrift.

I f***ing hate football at times. Hoping though that in the next 24 hours I'll start to love it again once that poisonous c**t has been sacked.

I thought Davies was doing a good job? Will admit I was surprised by the scoreline yesterday seeing as Derby were in a poor patch of form. McClaren doing wonders for them.

Nah, not really. Flattered to deceive all season. 7 million quid spent in the summer and we're in the same position with the same points as a year ago. 3 months without a home win. 6 points from 8 away games to the bottom 8 sides. 1 goal in 4 matches which was through blatant cheating. He won't acknowledge or speak to the fans, or the media. Keeps playing a defender up front, or hoof ball up to a small striker, never starts our most prolific striker, sold our best midfielder on deadline day without ever replacing him, dropped our best player for two matches to play Halford and Derbyshire on the wing instead, throwing away the best chance of a cup run in years and probably for years, sacking every member of staff that was already here, having his son and nephew (who are both shite) play in the youth teams over players who made the youth cup QF 2 years ago and SF last year, got himself suspended for five matches (three FA charges in one season), appealed one charge to get back on the touchline and it's made sod all difference. Haplessly equalling your biggest ever loss to local rivals and then not even acknowledging travelling support or giving any kind of interview (to tv, radio or even club website) to apologise is the last straw.

Yeah we have an injury crisis with arguably 7 of our best XI injured, one of them he signed injured and four of them got injured for a short while, he then brought them back and within one game (or 90 minutes in Reid's case) picked up another injury which put them out for a hell of a lot longer. Yet he'll never accept any blame for this (or even think it's not coincidence), he just says it's no wonder we lose matches when we're having the play the players we are (mix of internationals, players signed for big fees, solid championship journeymen, excellent youth prospects - how terrible!), it's no wonder they're playing like they've got no motivation or idea.

He's paranoid too, everything's about him, banning journalists for articles they wrote years ago, banning a cameraman after he was taking his photo (for the club programme!), getting his cronies to tell away fans to stop taking his photo when he's in the stand, recording every press conference filming journalists so he knows exactly who asks what, when.

We've probably had half a dozen performances you could say were really good this season.

He got away with being a prick last time because we had an owner and chairman in particular that fans didn't like, so he could get them on his side. It won't work now, the fans love Fawaz, naive at times but a great bloke who's invested loads and who every single fan would pick over Davies.

He's a brilliant manager to come in when you're in the shit, but his sides crumble every time there's pressure and expectation. When Derby were 2nd they fell apart and finished in the play-offs, when we were battling with WBA and Newcastle we fell apart and finished no where near, when we climbed to 2nd behind QPR we got 8 points from 12, when he came back and won 6 in a row to take us to the top 6 we won one of the last 8 to fall out. Now we're in touching distance of top 2, had a great January window and we've completely cocked it up. Players have no motivation and no clue. I've never heard a set of away fans sing "how shit must you be, we're DRAWING away" before we played Donny last week!

Honestly be surprised if he ever works again. There's going to be so much come out in the media that comes out if he is fired, gonna be ruined.

Oh, and he employes his crook of a cousin (banned from practicing law after losing a shedload of clients money - still under investigation), who spends his time making an arse of himself with ridiculous statements on Twitter, promotes his agendas and invites fans into the boardroom/directors box as special treats (most of which are female, 20s and blonde).

Well that's certainly a pretty damming report. I've always thought of him as a bit of a knob, bit of a Ferguson wannabee. I'm sure I saw some documentary about Forest about a year ago? Lansbury was playing for you on loan. He came across very well in that, but from what you've just posted, it does seem he's very image conscious, and it's not that hard to generate good PR!

It's quite remarkable that Clough gets sacked after losing to Forest and now the exact same has happened with Davies being sacked after losing to Derby, of course the defeat to Derby was a lot heavier which I'm very happy about as a Derby fan! I watched the match on Saturday and I agreed with the commentators who were saying that Derby weren't playing their best, although it was still a great performance of course, so to win 5-0 was extraordinary.

Anyway, I don't know the situation at Forest but from the outside it usually seems that Davies does a great job at the clubs he manages with several play-off finishes with Preston, Derby and Forest over the years but the amount of money Davies spent at Derby on transfers, several of which weren't considered good buys at all (although Jewell contributed to this as well), left Derby in the situation they have been since their Premier League relegation with Clough having to try and lower the wage bill drastically and having to rely on lower league talent. Only now have we got our finances in a better position thanks to Clough and a fantastic manager in McLaren have we been able to challenge at the top again and start spending a bit more money, but in a much more controlled and wiser way this time! Of course, I'm still glad we had the opportunity to be in the Premier League which was thanks to Davies as it was the first time I'd properly experienced Derby in the Premier League.

It seems to me that Forest do have a lot more money than Derby have ever had in the past decade or so, so this might not be an issue at Forest but there is always trouble that seems to follow Davies around as he seems to fall out with clubs' boards very easily and it is probably the right move for Forest despite what looks like a successful season from the outside. From what Rabbit says above, it seems that Forest fans are happy with the decision too!

Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain have had their red card rescinded - neither of them will be serving a ban!

lol, that referee needs to be sacked (or at least suspended)

I've seen worse things happen this season. Yes it was a mistake, but he realised it straight away and certainly didn't cower away from it. I'm sure he was the same ref who giften Chelsea the penalty against West Brom - that was far worse!

I would have thought they would have still given Oxlade-Chamberlain a retrospective ban.

Not sure it is possible, because somebody was sent off. I said at the time that both players would get away without any further suspension. There must be something in the Fifa rules somewhere about this. It was the officials error of judgement, not quite sure what else can be done.

We already assumed before this weekend that Liverpool would need four points from their two games against Chelsea and City. Given this weekend's results, that would probably do it for them if they can get the win against City. Which they won't.

Think we'll beat City but lose/draw to Chelsea. Which may or may not be enough. Man City's game will play in to Liverpool's, our front five players are all in form and on fire. Be and interesting game, and that is certainly looking like the title clash. It's all irrelevant if we don't pick up a victory against West Ham though.

Yep I'm more worried about West Ham. Big Sam and players out for revenge in the form of Downing and Carroll is never a good combination

Beating both Man City and Chelsea is a big ask too regardless of whether we are at home or not. Still Man City's title to lose

It's amazing to think we're even in this position and talking about the title though. The general feeling with most Liverpool fans at the start of the season was that we'd challenge for 4th, but probably fall short
