Thought the writing was on the wall for Di Canio when he openly criticised his players in post match interview. Normally that sort of thing stays behind closed doors and it wouldn't have endeared him to the players.

I've just noticed Spurs have only conceded one goal all season in all competitions. :o

But not that prolific at scoring!

Great results for Aston Villa and West Brom today. Said the other night to all the Man Utd fans, the win against Liverpool was just papering over the cracks cos they were awful. Moyes has got his work cut out. Top 6 looks wide open.

3 wins on the bounce for Carlisle. I know they are all against teams currently in the bottom 5 but I am hoping that a string of results will boost the confidence and we can go on a good run.

Longest serving manager in that division. I think it is a bit soon to sack him.

If someone said to me "Would you take 10 points from your first 6 games?" I would have jumped at the chance. It's now reality!

That's a stupid decision.

Di canio being sacked didn't come as that big a surprise. The club and manager just didn't suit.

Clough being sacked was a surprise however. Didn't think hed done that bad.

as for Bristol city, its a case of sticking with sod and keeping the faith. With luck, we would be up there with wolves. Today v Colchester we dominated possession, shots, corners and everything but ended up having to get an equaliser. It will get right with time.

Can't believe we actually beat the sheep! Second half was the longest 45 minutes of my life though, completely painful. Surprised but not that they've sacked Clough, he's done ok but he does seem very tactically limited. He's done a good job in terms of cutting the wage bill, remaining competitive without large investment and bringing youth through but their form has always been so patchy. They'll look like the best team in the division for a while and then not win for half a dozen games.

Interestingly they've gone for the McLaren appointment. Not too sure what to think. He's a good manager, but just not sure the fans will afford him the time, especially after his recent failings, not least at Forest.

He's a good coach, manager not so sure, and he is only head coach. If he's working with someone above him it might work. He failed miserably at Forest after he just had at Wolfsburg and then went back to Twente and didn't last long there either, so three failures and 4 out of 6 in total. You'd say it's probably his last chance now.

He might at least have some knowledge of the Championship and the capabilities of those that play in it as he was absolutely clueless with us, especially as he's been working at QPR since the summer.

Certainly looks wide open in that division. Pleased to see Liverpool doing well.

Kavanagh is still unbeaten since he took over. Thought we had the winner when O'Hanlon scored, then Shrewsbury equalised. :( Roll on Morecambe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

I'm still in a state of shock. No better place to score our first three away goals of the season!

I think all of the big clubs will experience a few off days this season where they're beat by teams they expect to be beating. Reckon the title could come down to the big games against each other.

Pleased for West Ham. Think they've burst the bubble and shown how much Spurs do miss Bale. They'll do well, and their players still need time to gel properly but they haven't replaced Bale at all, and I'm honestly not sure where their goals will come from. Soldado looks like he might do a Morienties, or take just a while to adjust to the league a lot more.

Tell you what though, Morrison moving out of Manchester is probably the best thing he's ever done.

I haven't seen the goal yet but he's made a fantastic start to the season after being good but not spectacular at Birmingham last season.

Our squad has definitely been improved but the teams around us have strengthened as well so I expect us to end up about 13th. This strikerless formation seems like a masterstroke in Carroll's absence given our strength in midfield.

Poyet confirmed as the new Head Coach of Sunderland.

Better appointment than Di Canio, but he probably needs to hit the ground up and running and I'm not sure he will be able to. Interesting appointment. A definite clear ideology, and even in the worst case scenario if they got relegated this season, you'd have thought they would come back stronger in the future.

Wish someone different would win the premier league. it's such a boring league full of overpaid, overrated players. The football league is where it's at.

as for Bristol City its just a case of having patience and faith we will actually win. Rumours are going around about bringing in 1 of

-Leroy lita (loan)

-nicky maynard (loan)

-jay bothroyd

but I can't see it due to wages. Still a long way to go though. Apparently Yeovil and Bournemouth, this time last season were where we are now. Look where they ended up. :w00t:

Interesting decision made against the Cardiff keeper, I wonder if the FA will review the rule. It looked very uncertain to me, though it was rather unwise to let go of the ball when an opposition player is so near.

First defeat for Kavanagh as manager for Carlisle. Now for a tough trip to MK Dons.
