Lostprophets triumph at Kerrang! awards

Source: Music Week

Lostprophets claimed the key prizes at last night’s Kerrang! Awards 2006, walking off with the gongs for best album and best British band.

Other winners included My Chemical Romance, who were named best band on the planet, while Bullet For My Valentine’s Tears Don’t Fall won the best single award. Angus Young was presented with the Kerrang! Legend trophy.

The awards took place in The Brewery in London and were partly intended as a celebration of the magazine’s 25th anniversary. The Kerrang! team were presented with a special award called Five K: Service To Metal, to mark the magazine’s influence with rock music in the past quarter-century.
