Anyone looking forward to Royal Ascot this week?

 

It will be great to see 15 horses coming from America to race.

Senga won the French Oaks at Chantilly today with Frankie Dettori's mount Shutter Speed finishing fourth.

It'll be interesting to see if ITV show Royal Ascot on the main channel next year with it being the World Cup next June. I'd imagine that some days would be on ITV4.

In case you didn't see it, the line failed from York on the last race so Richard Hoiles had to pick up the commentary off tube from Newmarket with no warning or preparation. It was a 20 runner handicap and not only did he call it perfectly he even called the photo for 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the right order!

 

The more I see of Hoiles the more I think he's well worthy of the number 1 spot.

A stalls handler has died after an incident that led to racing at Haydock being abandoned on Friday.

 

Stephen Yarborough was taken to Whiston Hospital by air ambulance after being run over by the mobile starting stalls.

 

He died later in hospital, his employers Race Tech said.

 

Well done to Frankie Dettori on winning his 5th Arc de Triomphe on Enable at Chantilly. A great ride from him on a very good filly Enable. She was flawless.

 

 

Coneygree looks far too fragile to be considered for the Gold Cup. Cue Card shot his bolt in 2016 and I can’t see him winning it now.

Announced that Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Sizing John will miss the Betfair Chase at Haydock on Saturday due to the heavy ground.

Douvan will be out for the rest of the season due to injury, whom was unbeaten in chases until..... the Champion Chase this year.
