Three-time Cheltenham Festival winner Vautour has died in an freak accident. He was 7.

 

RIP Vautour. He was a very good horse and for sure would have been an Gold Cup winner.

 

 

A very tough day to deal with :| We get to reminisce on Sprinter Sacre's amazing career after his retirement today, but not much later stablemate Simonsig suffers a fatal injury in the Shloer Chase :( My thoughts with Nicky Henderson and connections. After what happened to Vautour and Freddy Tylicki it's certainly been a difficult few weeks

 

On a lighter note; hats off to Fox Norton on his victory today!

 

A desperately sad day for Nicky Henderson with Sprinter Sacre retiring and Simonsig having a fatal fall.

RIP Walter Swinburn aged 55. A three-time Derby winning jockey.

In other news, Coneygree is out of the King George VI Chase but novice chaser Thistlecrack will take on Cue Card in the big race at Kempton on Boxing Day.

 

 

Terrific performance from Thistlecrack to win the King George VI Chas yesterday in his 4th run over fences.

2015 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Coneygree will miss the Gold Cup due to injury for a second year in a row.
