really like 'same ol' mistakes' until i listened to the original and realised it's a COMPLETE tame impala copout (altho it does work i guess so i can't begrudge it), LOVE 'needed me' which has to be one of rihanna's best songs in a while, but there's only another couple of okay to god ones and the rest is pretty bad like.... other R&B singers are doing these sounds so much better???? it sounds completely unfinished and thrown out. like birthday cake not being finished x5?

U ok hun? Xxx

Ahem

I do LOVE Same 'Ol Mistakes, it's within my top 3 on the album and I cannot stop listening to it.

BUT my one drawback is that it's an exact copy of the original, from the same production, down to the way she sings every single note in the same way as Tame Impala, there is literally no interpretation or originally in her version. Yet, for whatever reason, I prefer the Rihanna version. It could be the female vocal (Even though Kevin kinda sounds like a female some of the time) and she's singing over the original for a load of it anyway.

yeah it's amazing but im disappointed she hasnt even done anything with it cos it really adds nothing new, altho i will still listen to both but we only rly need one or the other

This is quite a good album isn't it.

Desperado is everything. Dripping with filth but far more melody than her usual bad gal tracks a la Pour It Up. Kiss it Better isn't a hit per se but it is a gorgeous melody and the production is superb. And the things she does with her voice on Love on the Brain...

Still some filler and it's not high art but for a left-leaning, slightly experimental pop album this hits the spot nicely.

why is tame impala's 'same old mistakes' needed here anyway? they literally just released that track on their last album :/ she adds nothing to it too and it's pretty much the only reason to do a cover.

ahem x2

I deleted 'James Joint', 'Needed Me' and 'Yeah, I Said It' from the playlist, as they are my least favorites, and added the 3 singles from last year (AO as track #2, BBHMM as #7 and 45S as #11). It flows pretty well!

This is already my second most played album ever (well, since resetting my last.fm in December 2011)...

Can't get enough, definitely her strongest album!

Her perf of 'Consideration' and 'Work' at the BRITs

That was not very good but eh it's Rihanna.

I don't even know why I'm going to see her in concert and I'm so excited about it

Apparently she's shooting the video for 'Needed Me' in Miami.

I can see it being as big as 'Pour It Up' and 'Bitch Better Have My Money' in the US but can it really be a hit internationally?

Hope that's true! Absolutely adore it. My favourite on the album after 'Work', would love it to have a video.

I don't really know how it'd do chartwise, but 'Work' has done so well for her I don't think it really matters. If they wanted a big hit they'd know to go with 'Kiss It Better' surely.
