i just dont get it!

 

why are/were so many in awe of this bloke? i find him very uninspiring, a geek whos got an obsession with peggy sue, if he were still alive no doubt there would be a 'peggy sue got divorced' song, a 'peggy sue got her pension' and 'peggy sue died'.. and whats with that inflection when he sings?..

 

gotta be a contender for the most overrated artist ever.

I suppose he was OK for his time. The songs were OK, but personally I found his voice a tad annoying. I suppose he lives on because he died...
