Yeah, I'm kind of talking about the music industry which was mentioned in your post. The media wasn't.

OMG YOU ARE HOPELESS. The music industry is MEDIA. Music is reviewed and spread through media. We wouldn't know about music if it weren't for media. You're making no sense at all and contradicting yourself among all the hating, stop maybe? http://i59.tinypic.com/1sz7mo.png

I love how when I criticise an artist I'm called a hater. I actually liked Artpop but acts like this are what makes me go off her.
I find it funny this griff poster is saying Gaga is attention seeking but look at him seeking attention with this hating which he can't even defend
It's called being reasonable.
How can it not be art if you're interpreting it based on its artistic values tho? If it weren't art she would just be standing on a stage wearing a pretty dress and smiling which is what some Buzzjackers expect after being spoon fed that way from the likes of Kylie and Beyoncé. Some of you just don't appreciate the real feeling and emotion that she puts into her art.

I consider something like this to be art. Kylie doesn't need someone to throw up on her or be a human spit roast to make the

performance "artistic" or memerable.

What Gaga did was attetion seeking and repulsive and didn't add anything to the performance. It's not how I see art or what I would call artistic.

Not talking in the perspective of being a loon.

I will admit that I did used to be a proper loon for Gaga, but have gone off her recently.

I do still like her but ARTPOP is, let's face it, a MAJOR disappointment and it's not so much her antics or image that bother me it's her belief that she's some sort of Messiah or voice of god, and it's really affected the quality of her output.

I'll always be interested in her but I'm definitely not as big a fan as I once was, and I don't leap to her defence any more like I once used to.

Did you even watch the performance? She said in the intro of 'Swine' was based on themes of rape and rage. 'Swine' IS a disgusting song. And how she portrayed it was art. Were you expecting her to smile and do a polished dance routine?

Gaga's performance is very much in the live art vein. You all seem to think she pulled some random chick out and turn bulimic for five minutes. Millie Brown is a professional "Paint Sicker" as she calls herself. It's all in the region of Theatre called Live Art.

I don't find it anymore grotesque than "Swine Fest". It's interesting to see someone use live art in their performance rather than throw on crazy coloured wigs and pretend to be a rapper.

You already said art is interpreted differently by everyone, you might have your loon goggles on and think it was art, I didn't. So how about you let people have their own

opinions.

You can't compare Kylie and Gaga they are completely different. Kylie doesn't write all of her songs nor does she produce them or direct their music videos, Gaga is attached to her music and makes art of it I agrree with Kath there... And like she says I think people interpret her wrong like what is happening in this thread and its sad to see... Cause that performance has a very emotional and sensitive subject and because of the puking incident it is not art?? That is why is say you are unreasonable Grif, its your opinion I guess but sorry I'm not one to fight I just thought I should defend Gaga because you are misunderstanding her...
Basically the Gaga fans saw the performance as art and the Kylie fans didn't

And Kylie or any act who doesn't write/produce their own music or direct their videos isn't?

Basically the Gaga fans saw the performance as art and the Kylie fans didn't

And so did the majority of all professional music critics.

I don't actually use reviews to make up my opinions.

Only one of those reviews mentions "art" though.
