I've been missing Melodifestivalen! Still a long way to go until anything really happens but it's nice to get some news. They look like they could have potential just from me looking at that pic without listening to what they're like.
It's also very Ruslana/Nox/Emmelie but it's quite good!

While we're HERE, I'd like to see the return next year of ANY/ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

- Sanna Nielsen

- Martin Rolinski (BIG PRIORITY THIS ONE)

- Janet Leon

- NOT YOHIO (he can never top Heartbreak Hotel and his album was DRECK)

- Timoteij (I could do with another album around about now)

- Jenny Silver (to RE-ESTABLISH her rep after the unholy sacrifice of THE WIVES (R.I.P.))

- Linda Pritchard (well she can't have much else on)

- ANNIELA (ENERGI!)

- Shirl (A MAN can DREAM)

- Lili och Susie

- Amy Diamond (with a SLUTTY STOMPER that makes Thank You look like a night in with nan)

- The BENGTZING (it's been three years, she's DUE)

- Andreas Johnson with some kind of desperate BANDET or ANGELS gimmick so he can finally plummet out at the first hurdle *.*

- HELENA

I'm pretty resigned to an inevitable Anton Ewald victory though. ONLY HELENA CAN SAVE US

Pretty sure that one of or both Oscar Zia and The Fooo will be appearing and coming close to victory! Anton seems like a far better prospect, Begging is still one of the songs of the year!

Oscar Zia looks like LEXC as pop'star'. And how old are The Fooo supposed to be?!

I could see the former entering (cursory research makes The Fooo look too big to be bothering with MF this early at least), but I can't see either being able to take on Anton now he's earned his stripes and probably been moved up to the A grade queue for Kempe/G:son tracks.

God knows, they look about 14. They've got to be older than Amy Diamond was upon her first participation I guess! Yeah I agree about Anton that he'll be back and with a bigger song but that said, his recent EP didn't exactly light up the Swedish charts, I wonder if his profile has already started to fade? He could 'do an Ulrik', I get the feeling that Sweden will want to send another Euphoria (and by that I mean a BIG song with a HUGE performance, as opposed to a song that sounds like it) having missed the top ten this year.

Also, I have a horrible feeling that if Helena did return, she'd be a high profile failure, her last few singles have been weak so she'd need something mega to even contend for the final.

I've just seen The Fooo's website. All born in 97/98 http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif Good lord I feel old.
Also WHAT ON EARTH at a name as HIDEOUS as 'The Fooo'. Shoot the manager.
I KNOW! I noticed today that somebody at work that looks older than me was born in 1996, I cried! They do have some big pop tunes already though, Build A Girl in particular.

Goodness you're so predictable.

I grew to appreciate MF 2013 in the end, to begin with I felt like it'd lost it's edge with schlager songs, but now I don't really care. Music evolves, the charts all evolve over time, so Melodifestivalen, a huge contest hosted by one of the best nations in music, is naturally going to evolve in sound too. Most of the people you've listed there, Tyron, are hasbeens. The contest shouldn't stick in a rut, I'm more than happy to see new artists come along and do well.

Some of my favourites from this year were Anton Ewald, Janet Leon, Robin Stjernberg, Ralf Gyllenhammer. The contest being more current should be a good thing! Since when were Sweden as a nation ever predictable when it comes to music anyway?

HAS-BEENS? The only has-been I see on that list is Shirl (and the likes of Anniela who frankly NEVER WERE but they weren't exactly serious desires)

I'm just pretty disappointed. Yes, the contest should evolve. 2011 struck the perfect balance in that regard though - new artists while still recognising the genre that made the contest popular in the first place. This year felt - the Wives, Heartstrings, Rolinski and Riktig aside, with two of those second-rate examples of the genre - like they were trying to totally airbrush that genre out. Melodifestivalen is pretty much the only place to GET new schlager stars. I'm not here for just watered down versions of what we already get from the charts.

Heartstrings is still THE song of Melodifestivalen 2013, it's an absolute disgrace that it crashed straight out :/
Yeah, I was out that night, but I'm so glad I was, I'd have been OUTRAGED to watch Janet come 5th, behind what she did :/
Wasn't Helena the first one voted off Let's Dance last year? She'd never get out from a Deltavling alive with a sub-standard song. :S
