I like Alexandra Burke, she has something about her and is probably my second favourite XF winner taking all round ability into account. I watched the video for Elephant last night for the first time all the way through and although she does a good job and I think this will be a hit for her, part of me thought it was shame that it could be any number of women singing it and it doesn't stretch her at all. I understand the majority of stuff in the charts is is off that ilk but I hope she doesn't continue down this route and we get to hear the beautiful voice she has again.

im quessing theres not going to be a b-side? I was hopeing for a full edit of tonight. :(

 

And also I think that elephant will go top 10 on uk tv chart and will hopefully chart top 100 on radio :)

It's a shame she's nothing performing on release week. If it was a couple of weeks later it would have helped the #1 cause. However it may create some public awareness of the song.

They probley planned this performance before they pushed it back, as the 25th is only a few days before it first release date.

So is this going to bomb? It feels like it. I want it to be a hit because I like Alex but the song is just so... difficult to get excited about. Doesn't help that the remix we heard first blows the original out of the water.

 

This is a hard one to predict. It feels to me like one of those songs that could go either way. It could easily debut number 1 (solely on the strength of the fanbase admittedly) or it could just scrape in at 13. Even if it does go top 5 though, it'll bomb straight down.

 

I can't help leaning towards thinking it will either miss top 10 or just make it in though...

There is actually no buzz around this, but with it being such a quiet period I see no reason why it won't confortably make the top 10 regardless... unless it really is that much of a disaster.

The video views on her vevo aint great either, Its a shame because i do like the song!
