May 28, 201213 yr The fact that it's utter shite doesn't help matters Elephant is MILES better than it. She started off so well, idk wtf she's playing at. THE SONG IS AMAZING!!!!! airplay is the problem.
May 28, 201213 yr The new song just goes nowhere or doesnt excite me. I think Alexandra is gona struggle big time from here on in, ipredict they will love on from the 2nd album queit quickly. She really needs a very strong 3rd album or she is finished.
May 28, 201213 yr The scary thing is that Alexandra Burke is heavily frontloaded so should start falling tomorrow, It's not even managed to break the top 25 on iTunes, I think it will scrape top 25, but how shameful!
May 28, 201213 yr THE SONG IS AMAZING!!!!! airplay is the problem. Elephant had similar (non-existant) levels of airplay and went top 3.
May 28, 201213 yr Yes but Elephant came out when she had a higher profile (having fairly recently done the X Factor guest judging spot) and more goodwill. It was also the first single from the project so obviously people were curious about how she'd follow up her first album.
May 28, 201213 yr I really don't think those factors make THAT big a difference. I'll give you that Elephant being the comeback single gave it an advantage but X Factor was a decent while back! There's a huge sales gap between a #3 and a #27 hit and I just don't think those factors contribute enough to explain it.
May 28, 201213 yr Elephant had similar (non-existant) levels of airplay and went top 3. Elephant was still being played before release on R1 by Scott Mills and Greg James, she did more promo for Elephant. It is what it is hopefully the album will go Top 10. Edited May 28, 201213 yr by marrb
May 28, 201213 yr Of course the album will go top 10, You only need sales over 5,000 for that  Elephant also had decent/better promotion than Let It Go, but sales are higher now than when Elephant was released.
May 28, 201213 yr Pixie Lott managed Top 10 in the album charts then Alex is sure to. She is looking great in todays Sun. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle4341777.ece

May 28, 201213 yr They have both released 2nd albums of mostly mid to uptempo dance tracks, so I imagine the buying market will be the same.
May 28, 201213 yr Oh dear! :( Let It Go is growing on me but it's definitely not as instant as previous stuff, and maybe a bit too repetitive. But I've seen like 0 promo for it, so it's not a huge shock :(
May 28, 201213 yr They have both released 2nd albums of mostly mid to uptempo dance tracks, so I imagine the buying market will be the same. As Jack said, Pixie didin't go top 10, you can't exactly compare album sales, as i'm sure had Pixie released her album next week, she would certainly go top 10 as album sales are much lower than in November.
May 28, 201213 yr Didn't Elephant have much better tv AirPlay ? She also had much higher profile tv slots eg Sports Relief. Sadly Alex hasn't had time to build up a large enough solid fan base before she's lost the support of the big radio stations. Her music is no better or worse than the music hammered on Capital and radio 1. radio support dries up for all artists but if a career has been handled in the right way an artist can continue to be successful.
May 28, 201213 yr Was #25 on iTunes earlier has already dropped to #27, would be ATROCIOUS/HILARIOUS If this missed the top 30 :| Edited May 28, 201213 yr by LeeWallaceee
May 28, 201213 yr It actually angers me how 'Start Without You' gets to #1 and this completely bombs. No justice at all. :(
