April 13, 20178 yr Season Five (and final season) is airing now! Starring none other than Rihanna as Marion Crane! I'm surprised this isn't getting more discussion for that alone ;o I've only seen the first episode now, but it's a great set up and feels more Hitchcock-esque than ever before. The ending of the last season was perfect so I hope this can go out with a similar bang!
April 13, 20178 yr Season 1 and 2 were brilliant, mid way through Season 3 I gave up, it was virtually bordering going no where.
April 14, 20178 yr I struggled with season 3, it was a bit of a dud, but I stuck with it and season 5 is amazing. Proper brilliant. I must only have 3 episodes left before it's done for good. It's a tight season that doesn't waste any time getting the storyline wound up. The scenes with Freddie and Vera in this season have been absolutely blinding.
April 27, 20178 yr Wish Ch.5 or another channel on Freeview would pick this up. May buy the DVD's or see if our local library has them.
April 27, 20178 yr Just watched the season 5 finale/last ever episode :( I was so sad to see Norman die but I totally understand why they went in that direction. I'm not ashamed to admit that I choked up when he laid dying in Dylan's arms and he said "thank you" Such a good series and what a high they went out on!
May 8, 20178 yr So, not having access to it on TV I borrowed the Season 1 DVD from our local library but was a waste of time. So badly scratched and marked that it kept stopping and jumping! So have ordered seasons 1-3 from Amazon for £16.99 which isn't bad for three full series. Season 4 is too dear at the moment and of course season 5 isn't out yet. So plenty of viewing, 30 episodes, for me when there's nothing on TV this summer. Won't want to ever watch them more than once so may donate them to a charity shop then.

January 17, 20187 yr omg just watched the sixth episode of Season 5 aka the episode with that scene from the film. It was so clever how they reimagined and changed it from the film and it sort of follows on from the whole theme of the series. It has all been a reimagining of the iconic film rather than trying to directly replicate it/be canon with the film. The whole episode was such a great character piece for Norman. Obviously Marion is a really crucial character to the Psycho world, but in the Bates Motel world, she's just sort of another female character Norman would have killed, just the one who he happens to get caught for. I loved how he was trying to break away from his illness and meant that Marion became a special character for another reason to the film. I'm not going to lie though, I was quite gutted when Rihanna went away scot free because I was so excited to see the iconic scene but it was brilliant how we still got it, being played in the same way as the film but with a different person.
