Posted September 22, 201311 yr Has anyone else been to see this? Coming of age movie, plenty of natural laughs and family drama. Steve Carell plays an absolutely awful step-dad, Toni Collette is great as the mother and Allison Janney (along with her son in the movie) steals every scene. Overall a great viewing, pretty sweet and you manage to feel for the lead character despite his ways. OwNo1i3jkCo
September 22, 201311 yr I just raved over this in the DVD thread a few minutes ago  Such a wonderful and FUNNY film from start to finish, so many characters to love and adore but I was totally captivated watching Owen (Sam Rockwell)! It was really breathtaking to watch his bond with Duncan, Sam was the best actor here in my opinion  This film has the same writers as The Descendants, which had 5 Oscar nominations, and honestly I think this is much better, so I'll be upset if it doesn't get Oscar nominations as well
October 16, 201311 yr Just watched this, it was LOVELY. Trent was just so utterly hateful, it was nice to see Steve playing against character for a change. Alison was, as per usual, brilliant even if she was hamming it up no end. LOVED Duncan though, I guess it helped that I saw quite a lot of myself in him so was totally rooting for him at every moment, especially when he got angry at the BBQ or whatever and told his mum about Trent. But yeah, LOVELY film.
