Ask Demi Lovato (and, SURPRISE, the 're-release' of 'Skyscraper' was a complete waste of time that utterly failed to keep the song in the chart longer than a couple of weeks).

On a vaguely related note - no less than 52 of last week's top 200 first charted before 2013, though only 4 of those were in the top 75. That number will increase significantly with the return of the Xmas oldies, of course.
