April 21, 201411 yr http://www.irishmirror.ie/showbiz/irish-sh...nt-solo-3429084 Una Healy: I want to do a solo record The Saturdays star Una Healy has revealed she’s hoping to make a solo record soon. The flame-haired singer from Co Tipperary shot to fame in 2008 with the popular girl band. But Una, 32, who taught herself to play guitar aged 13, said she would love an opportunity to showcase her tunes as a solo artist. “I’ve been writing loads this year. That’s what I’m going to do over the next few weeks. I’ve lots of writing sessions lined up with some really good people,” she told the Irish Mirror. “I really want to get back into that because I used to do loads of writing before the band. “But you need so much time. You nearly need time off for to get inspiration.” The talented mum-of-one, who is celebrating Easter at home in Thurles this weekend with her toddler Aoife Belle, two, said she would love to record a solo album. “In the future I probably will but the band is where I am at at the moment. I’ll be in the band for another few years hopefully. “Then maybe when I get a bit older I’ll go back to the guitar thing, definitely.” The ‘Missing You’ hitmaker said she has a busy summer ahead with her bandmates Mollie King, Frankie Sanford, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White, as they are releasing a Greatest Hits compilation and accompanying tour. “We’ve just announced out Greatest Hits tour and it’s coming to The Olympia on September 17 and we’ve got some summer shows. “And we have a Greatest Hits album coming out in August. It’s 17 singles we have now.” The album will be released on August 11 and include their number one single ‘What About Us’, as well as their hits ‘Higher’, ‘Ego’ and ‘All Fired Up’. And the girls are also preparing for the third Saturdays wedding as Frankie is set to walk down the aisle this summer. But despite the hectic lifestyle the Irish Mirror Pride of Ireland Awards host said it’s important to her to come home and spend time with her family as much as she can. “I spent Christmas and New Year at home. I come over and back. It’s nice when it’s for work as well because I can kill two birds with one stone.” Edited April 21, 201411 yr by LoveKiller
April 21, 201411 yr http://www.irishmirror.ie/showbiz/irish-sh...nt-solo-3429084 Ugh.. Even though Una is my favourite, she would probably have the least successful solo career in the UK out of the girls as she's the least commercial. She would be stupid to leave the group for a solo career
April 21, 201411 yr Say it all the time but Vanessa has the best voice and would work if she had a bit more of a profile. However overrated Humes would possibly make it solo <_<
April 21, 201411 yr Even though she has been deemed "least vocally capable" I think Frankie actually has the best shot at a solo career. She does have the highest profile and is sort of the face of the group. I could see Una having some success in Ireland but that's it.
April 21, 201411 yr Wordshaker/Headlines Frankie could surely have a solo career. This Frankie probably be satisfied with opening a cookie jar as accomplishment. But she truly has potential :coffee:
April 22, 201411 yr I'm incredibly impressed about how positive the critics are on Vanessa. You would think considering she has the least fans and a smaller profile, critics and the general public would think the same as the fans, but no it's pretty much the opposite. Try to find a single good comment that isn't from a fan on an article of Frankie, Mollie, Una or Rochelle in the Dailymail. So much hate, I swear. Then just read all the positive feedback Vanessa gets there by people who hate the group, but acknowledge her voice and beauty. I'm not saying that I don't agree, but it's quite surprising there's such a contrast within the fans where she's the least popular and within a part of the public where she's the most liked. It puts things in perspective. Maybe she would be the most successful afterall. I mean, yes Frankie and Mollie are easier to market, but they can't sing like Vanessa. Surely she would get a record deal out of her credibility, if you know what I mean. Of course, I don't really want her or any of them to go solo.
April 22, 201411 yr I think Vanessa would have the best solo career (when I mean best I mean Alesia Dixon style career) Mollie won't have a music career in my view as she's more into fashion and I'm sure she'll go that route. Or she will be the Nicola Roberts of the saturdays and try to do both. Frankie... Really not sure what the future holds for her. She's probably the most well-known sat with roch (of course :P) so that would make me think shed do just aswell. But I have a feeling she will have a decent career as she is easy to market. Una could go like Diana Vickers and start strong before finding an indie sound she likes as I imagine she'd be experimenting a little. So she could be a successful indie artist. Rochelle... She will have a massive dance song which will be number one on the airplay chart for 7 weeks and will sell more than Happy in the long run. She will have a 21 x platinum album and become a 13-grammy winner with multi-platinum albums in the states. Her music will mind wash millions and everyone will worship her. Then, with Una and mollie as her henchmen, she will take over the world MWAHAHHAHAHAHA
April 22, 201411 yr I think that Vanessa and Una are the only ones passionate enough about music to want to pursue a solo career. Vanessa really does have a great profile, she's coming in to her own. Now that she's looking better than ever, she's getting solo magazine shoots etc. She has the best voice by a mile. I'm not talking about consistency but in terms of vocal range, she wipes the floor with them all. With the right producers and writers she could be big. She has the right style, she'd be willing to try anything. I can see her having Rita Ora style success with the right songs. I think Rochelle would stay in TV for sure, being a popstar seems too much effort for her. Mollie will stay with the fashion side of it.. Again, it seems like too much effort for her. She's more suited to showing up to events, looking good and not having to do much else. Frankie's a hard one to predict. But I don't think she'd do the solo stuff. Judging by what we've seen on her, she's not great on her own. She needs the other girls as he backbone. I don't think she could hack being a solo artist and I don't think she'd be successful even if she did. I think she'll just be a 'celebrity Mum'. And I think Una would be like Melanie C. I can see her doing that style of music and tapping in to that kinda fanbase. They'd keep her going but she wouldn't be a mainstream success.
April 22, 201411 yr Frankie may join a different group or rejoin Sclub 8 but I can't see her going anywhere else

April 22, 201411 yr Una will have solo success in Ireland and will probably get a role on The Voice Of Ireland if that's still around and get presenting roles on Irish TV. She will probably release a clothing line too. Rochelle will stick with TV, I could see her hosting something like The Xtra Factor and presenting morning Tv. She will probably get a judging role on a new ITV talent show. Mollie will stick with fashion and will release many clothing lines and her own makeup brand I can see Frankie maybe getting into fashion as well and possibly take part in Strictly or another reality show. Vanessa will go solo like Una and I can see her featuring on dance tracks with the likes of DJ Fresh and Rudimental. Edited April 22, 201411 yr by Satsfan7
April 22, 201411 yr I don't think Rochelle will get a judging role over Frankie. I recall a few years back (possibly 2011?), Frankie was linked to the X-Factor panel but obviously never got it. April 22, 201411 yr Author In 2011, Frankie was definitely the only one with a big enough profile to be a TV talent show judge. But now, I'd say Rochelle has a bigger profile in TV terms. She's on Sweat The Small Stuff and occasionally This Morning. Then the fact she's married to Marvin helps too, since he hosts The Voice UK. Having the same surname helps her profile massively! She's also been linked to a Loose Women role in the next few months. If they split, I think Rochelle would definitely present a daytime show. Then maybe have a chance at some primetime stuff too, like Marvin has with The Voice. Maybe they'd ask her to do Rising Star (new ITV singing show launching next year).
April 22, 201411 yr The only one who would be good enough at judging a talent show would be Mollie. The nation's new sweetheart. BAI CHERYL x

April 22, 201411 yr Mollie and Una seem like the the most capable of writing pop songs and well back in January, these were the only two with some rumours of recording solo stuff (which Una confirmed, and Mollie's work was probably with The Jam). I think these two can easily get producers to work with them because they can write good songs easily. Which is something I think Vanessa won't have right away, but she would definitely get the record deal from a major label right before the other girls. I really can't see Frankie wanting to stand on a stage alone with her current mental state. And I think Rochelle can have a lot of opportunities on TV so I can see her missing her chance of starting a solo career at the right time because she would be too busy with TV stuff.
