I certainly don't think it's her weakest lead single, I'd say it's at least undeniably better than '2 Hearts' and 'Spinning Around' (I do prefer it to 'All The Lovers' and 'Slow' too but acknowledge they're more widely acclaimed), not to mention some of her early lead singles like 'Word Is Out'...

 

I think this is what she should have came back with in 2007, it's the sort of thing people wanted from her and the lyrics could have been relatable to what she'd been through (which is again what a lot of people wanted).

its fair to say it hasn't sold the album....... but lets see how the rest of the era holds up.....

i like into the blue but its more a 3rd single release than lead single.

I have found a lot of people not even aware of its existence to be fair, I even told a fair few people I was seeing her perform at the weekend and some asked "is she even still going/has she even released anything lately?".

Spinning Around is incredible and a better song than Blue. But it's still a ridiculous shame they f***ed this up so royally.

I don't know what difference waiting until May would have made, I would say maybe they shouldn't have chosen by far the busiest week of the year so far but that's about it.

You never know which week is definitely the busiest until you are literally into that week.

 

Pushing for May release will probably do another "All the lovers" with less effect but it will still give the single a reasonable chart run.

I can't see any other songs from the album doing much better to be honest...I think this era will really struggle and might spark the end for her career with Parlophone.

we can only hope so. She needs a change IMO.

Parlo have been absolutely shocking since about midway through the X campaign until now.

Record companies don't really have a great idea about marketing these days anyway... they think Spotify+Facebook+Youtube will do all the wonders for them!

Into the blue is no43 in singles today. Big drop from 35 or whatever it was earlier in the week. Only 2 weeks in top 40 so pretty bad chart run considering its her first single from album.

but I think it will get Kylie's ITB back top 40 by tomorrow, its around 45 in charts so if it gets some buys before midnight it could do OK.....
