I still don't get the point of this censorship. In my language we use quite a lot dirty and nice words in our everyday speech as well, of course depending on the situation.

 

In case of music I'm luckier than you guys, because here and probably in all non-English speaking countries the explicit version is always the main version, the one which is aired on TV, played on radio, sold in shops/iTunes. This is how it should be, ppl here don't really care about the lyrics of the songs anyway.

Bitch was being played in 1974. Elton John's "Bitch Is Back". So, why is it deemed not nice to hear the word "bitch" on the radio in the current Britney Spears track? Don't get that one.

 

Even today they play the word in some songs. For example when Heart FM play Just Like a Pill, they leave the word "bitch" uncensored.

I guess it depends on the context. Come to think of it, I'm sure radio still play 'Bitch' by Meredith Brooks, don't they? I'm sure I've heard it on Heart.
