I've just listened to Catarina's song and it is fantastic! Definitely worth the hype she has in this thread! :kink:

 

Here is the running order for tonight's final:

 

1. Rui Andrade - "Ao teu encontro"

2. Catarina Pereira - "Mea culpa"

3. Zana - "Nas asas da sorte"

4. Raquel Guerra - "Sonhos roubados"

5. Suzy - "Quero ser tua"

This Portuguese final has to be the most boring show i've ever watched. doubt theyll make the final and then theyll pull out again.

Zana and Raquel have just been eliminated leaving Rui, Catarina and Suzy still in with the chance of winning!

Rui has finished 3rd so either Catarina or Suzy will win!

Suzy has won! Poor Catarina. :(

Both of them 2 had okay songs

its a bit catchy but i think it'll get lost.

will austria, russia or azerbaijan give us the big pop song we are all waiting for?! :[

I do like Suzy's song, but Catarina was by far my favourite! The crowd don't seem to be happy at all with the result though, seems to be quite a lot of boos.

 

The majority of the audience left following the announcement of the result before Suzy had her winning performance and it seems as if there has been something going on. According to ESC Forum, Andrej Babić who composed Catarina's entry posted this on Facebook earlier this week: "Save yourself money, people... others already decided... for you".

 

I wonder if we'll hear something more about this?

 

Anyway, here is the studio version of Suzy's song. It's really nice, reminds me a little bit of 'Zaleilah'. :D

Yes it was, but apparently it has been open all week. I'm not sure what people believe has supposed to have happened but a petition has now even been set up for Suzy to be disqualified and Catarina to take her place, it already has over 100 signatures in just a few minutes.

 

Basically the reaction in Portugal is "boooo" lol. People wanted Catarina. Personally I actually liked Suzy's song better, but i'm in the minority.

well did the show state that the phone lines only opened during the show? because if they did and they opened earlier then it was invalid or they can't count the votes before the show started otherwise surely it isnt legal

I do really like Mea culpa but I don't see what's so bad about Quero ser tua compared to Mea culpa that it causes such an outrage by winning?! I guess Portugal just really loved Caterina, but still.

I should hope this thread doesn't resurrect that Odaisul THING that claims the contest is biased to the East because 'only countries to the east of Portugal win these days' (NO SHIT LOVE) and then trollopes about with a stuck out lip about how it's good that Portugal do bad because Lordi won that one time so clearly doing well must mean you're awful. thats my opinion about it, in this contest (did I said contest?), only ONE song were capable to go to europe.

 

I heard some people (maybe unemployeds, because they have plenty of free time) made some petitions about this, what I can say is with the conditions the population is living through these things are the first which came to their mind to make a better country, this matter is so important for them i think they should make a referendum about this, or maybe they should revolt and climb the entrance of the parlament -_- .
