Thought so ;)

yep insure did. Definitely. mhmm! In all seriousness I have nothing against it. It's one of the tracks I forget how much I like it until I listen to it, but really, had DITD been released it would have done amazingly I think!!

Yeah, DITD is without a doubt the next best song on the album after the singles that were released, she should have just gone for it and released it as the fourth single, with the hype she had at the time, it would definitely have been as huge as the others! In fact, didn't she actually release it as a single in some territories like Australia? Or am I imagining that?

Why must they give such vague totals for the top 2? They go from the nearest 1k for the rest to the nearest 100k for those 2.

Indeed - only the lower places are any use for my master sales list.

It had a limited release with no support. It charted in the UK in the top 200 if I remember correctly although that just might have been the album version.

You're right, mango! It WAS released for airplay in Australia and peaked at #24! I was listening to Aussie radio a lot at the time, it sounded wonderful

According to Wikipedia, it was a radio single in Australia and France. Also:

The song was initially planned to be released after "Telephone", but due to a dispute between Gaga and her record company, "Alejandro" was released instead.

That's quite an interesting little factoid, I wonder who was disputing what and whether she or the record company won

I remember she wanted Alejandro as the single so she must have won. Here's what I found from Alejandro's Wikipedia page:

Originally, "Dance in the Dark" was planned to be released as the third single from The Fame Monster, as a preference of Gaga's record label. The singer's own choice, "Alejandro", initially saw poor reception in terms of radio play, thereby was not seen as a viable choice for a single. A quarrel then arose between Gaga and her label where "Alejandro" was ultimately chosen to be released. Through her account on Twitter, the singer remarked on the decision, "Alejandro is on the radio. f*** it sounds so good, we did it little monsters."

Well I have to say she did the right thing by fighting for Alejandro, but DITD would still have made a great 4th single!

If I remember right, DITD was not written by Lady Gaga so it wasn't down to her.
DITD should have been one of the first singles thoughts think.

According to Wikipedia, she did co-write it :P

Oooh my mistake then :P maybe it was just down to the other party that wrote it with her cause I'm defo sure it was sunny to donate the writers..
I posted this in the Gaga forum but it may as well be posted here too.

In short:

01. Poker Face 1.1m

02. Bad Romance 1.0m

03. Just Dance 935k

04. Telephone 694k

05. Born This Way 690k

06. Paparazzi 585k

07. The Edge of Glory 580k

08. Alejandro 436k

09. Judas 302k

10. Applause 215k

The total for Applause ties these figures to the 2/11/13 chart.

Earlier this Year The OCC told me that 'Just Dance' only sells a few hundred copies per Week, these days.

I guess that is 200 to 300 copies a Week.

For the last 5 months, it's averaged ~225/wk - so at that rate would take >5.5 years to pass 1m.

not to be ungrateful but any approximations for Marry the night and lovegame? thought mtn was over 200k anyway...
