I really love this song, but it really doesn't strike me as being a single. It's the perfect album opener though and as a song it's one of those strong album tracks. I really can't imagine this being played on the radio/tv etc.. but I'm excited to see what effect it does have. I think the best that we can hope for is for it to do an 'Unconditionally'.

Completely agree, I've grown to love it but the album is one of those where there are so many potential singles (4x4, SMS, Drive and #GetItRight mainly) that releasing this is still a bit baffling... Oh well, there are plenty of singles left that will do very well so it's not an era killer or anything.

but If you look at the album tracks that charted at the time of Bangerz'z release, it's completely the right decision.

It wouldn't surprise me if 'Adore You' is moved on rather quickly! I think the video was released at the wrong time and should have been released mid January instead of Boxing Day as it would have taking advantage of poor sales and disappointing streaming.

 

Wrecking Ball is still getting more views on a daily basis than Adore You as 'Wrecking Ball' is still the #01 on VEVO while 'Adore You' has dropped out the top 3.

It's a shame because Adore You is a fantastic song! I think it's just too similar to Wrecking Ball concept wise and they should have released something else first (i.e. the trying to be controversial yet simple video, being a ballad etc.)

I heard this properly on Radio 1 today and it's properly clicked with me. I was distracted by what I thought was a pretty silly video the first time I heard it. But it's quite beautiful, really.

'Adore You' has officially passed 500,000 sales in the United States.

 

If she performed at the Grammys, I would have been a confident of a top 10 placing. Hopefully once promo kicks in she manages to get a new peak on the billboard. At least 'Adore You' should pass 1million sales in the US.

Cedric Gervais remix has been confirmed for a release in February. I'm guessing if she releases a remix video, she could easily get a top 10 peak with 'Adore You'.

Radio aren't playing this much here :( #46 on airplay this week, which makes its chart performance actually somewhat impressive. To be honest I can see why they're not eager to play it - that first verse is rather ridiculous to hear on the radio, but still I think if it was given more of a chance it'd easily be top 20 right now. It is top 15 on US iTunes after all.

I wonder if the cedric version will be pushed for radio?

 

It's rather disappointing that it's missed the top 20 following two number one singles. It's not been promoted anywhere and is performing poorly on US airplay.
