Goodbye Lullaby is lovely. Not the most memorable album but it has some great moments, 'Wish You Were Here' being one of the highlights. It was a great return to her old sound as well, which was needed after the fairly immature-sounding TBDT era.

Avril's most recent single, and first to contain a featured artist in the form of husband Chad Kroeger, fails to make much of an impression here. It's already performed better than Rock N Roll did in America and charted top 100 in the UK also on the week of the album's release.

They're both equally average, to be fair, especially compared to the rest of her singles discography. Thankfully, Rock N Roll saved this era (I don't mean sales-wise of course).

The third single from The Best Damn Thing falls out at #17. Not a lot to report about this, it's a fairly standard Avril song which is nice enough for me but not one of her best. The most interesting thing I can see on Wiki is that it got a Japanese version released as a ringtone in Japan. Fun.

Mostly middling scores for the fourth and final single from Under My Skin. The song was slated by critics for the "shallowness" of the lyrics, but praised for its pop punk sound. Fourth great single out of four from this album IMO.

Avril's third album comes third, and it's probably the album I'm most familiar with by her. I'd say it has some of her best tracks on (Girlfriend, When You're Gone, Keep Holding On, and my absolute FAVOURITE Avril song Innocence), but also some of her worst, and those ones are fairly annoying. So this means that Avril's first two albums are the top 2 here...

Jonjo AGOG as Wish You Were Here fails to make the top 10. It's a nice track but I can't say I LOVE it really. It had little commercial success, only making #65 on the Hot 100 and missing the top 200 completely in the UK.

 

I wish I voted in this. He Wasn't would have got my 11 I think, fricking love that track. :wub:

The fourth single from Let Go (and final one in most places) comes 12th, possibly a bit too high IMO. The song is about "losing grip" with a loved one when it just isn't meant to be. It had some commercial success, peaking at #22 in the UK, and making #1 in Hong Kong *.* It was nominated for three awards - two at the Canadian Radio Music Awards, where it won Best NewRock/Alternative Solo, and once at the Grammy Awards.

Losing Grip :wub: Perhaps not the best single on Let Go but I was so addicted to it back then that I felt like it deserved the 11 :love:

Can't wait to see what the top ten (/11) is.

 

Rock n Roll/What The Hell/Happy Ending/Don't Tell me are my four favourite Avril songs. If any of them place outside the top 10, I'll be disappointed.

Keep Holding On, Avril's song for the film Eragon, just misses the top 10. The song is a power ballad, and was included as the final track on The Best Damn Thing. It had minor success worldwide, peaking at #141 in the UK but at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 (about 80 places higher than Rock N Roll managed). Gorgeous song, wish it was top 10 myself.
