Posted November 30, 201311 yr RADIOHEAD. I should love everything about them but I just do not like Thom Yorke's voice :(
November 30, 201311 yr Author oasis. self-explanatory really. i hate them too. i find it unfathomable their egotism when they've essentially released the same album over and over again. kings of leon is another for me.
November 30, 201311 yr See I always though Radiohead and mainly for his voice but Atoms For Peace are really wonderful and there a handful of songs of theirs/his I just ADORE. The vast majority I find to be dull rubbish though.
November 30, 201311 yr both o the above are so bang on. in fact can't think of any others. radiohead and ppl like kings o Leon are always my go to answer to this question but then KOL et al aren't even very popular any more
November 30, 201311 yr kings of leon is another for me. I'm not sure why I keep buying their albums in the hope that they'll be like their 04-07 vintage when it's blatantly obvious they won't be.
November 30, 201311 yr Author i think perhaps we should exclude kol/strokes etc as that is more LADINDIE and less the more alternative side we are all into collectively. p4k > nme and i'm not sorry
November 30, 201311 yr Another for Radiohead apart from Creep & Just, I'm not all that familiar with their material but Yorke's voice is has always been a real turnoff and stopped me from getting properly get into them. Off the top of my head, Slipknot & Hurts are two groups I've never got the fuss for (and what different styles they are!). Edited November 30, 201311 yr by Chez Wombat
November 30, 201311 yr About 80% what Radiohead have done is average. The other 20% is good enough to place them among the greats.

What is LADINDIE? And what does "Less the more alternative side we are all into collectively" mean? Perhaps expand on the opening post to give us an indication of the sort of acts you mean. November 30, 201311 yr Florence and the Machine This would probably be one of mine. I do like Cosmic Love, but generally I don't enjoy her voice.
November 30, 201311 yr Author i'm assuming it's her voice you guys don't like as I'd say she's an excellent songwriter and epworth's production is always manifique
November 30, 201311 yr Queen are another band. They only have like FOUR SONGS I'd choose to listen to.
November 30, 201311 yr Radiohead are amazing! And Oasis have some incredible incredible songs as well. I can't however fathom how Kings Of Leon even have one person who'd want to buy their songs (with the exceptions of Use Somebody, Pyro and Fans). URGH. Edited November 30, 201311 yr by Tommy G

November 30, 201311 yr Enough with the Radiohead hate! Everything from The Bends through Kid A is just amazing (especially Kid A) and the subsequent albums all have their moments even if none of them are quite as perfect as what came before.
