OH MY f***ING GOSH GAGA PERFORMED BROOKLYN NIGHTS IN MELBOURNE LAST NIGHT

And it slayed my entire body. Could she be hinting that Act 2 is still on its way or a single release for the song? I have a video link for those who want one btw! This completely took me by surprise, but then again she did the same with 'Princess Die' on the BTWB

Golden Lady Gaga gives little monsters the wow factor they deserve

August 24, 2014

Michael Dwyer

http://images.smh.com.au/2014/08/24/5702220/1408848204626.jpg-620x349.jpg

Dear Gaga. I know you read your reviews because you sure paid out on that "asshole" who wrote that you lip-synced. I would never say that. You gave your all up there last night. That's some showgirl's foghorn you've got.

And dance? Only all the time! Any girl who'll sprint fifty metres of plexiglass catwalk in those ice-pick heels, throw herself down a set of steps and still make her hydraulic trapdoor cue without creasing her rubber octopus suit is already more than I paid for.

Seriously, monsters and detractors. From the first confetti-cannon ejaculations of ARTPOP, the Germanotta girl from NYC left no doubt she has the Broadway chops to make her grand designs sweat, and big enough balls – inflatable ones, silly, tossed about by her toned and glistening person-slaves – to slam the whole colour-and-movement thing into overdrive.

An Event, of course, is the least Gaga can get away with. The Phenomenon, from a purely bums-in-fishnets perspective, has clearly waned since she played twice as many Australian arenas two years ago.

But her resolve to play mostly her underrated ARTPOP material, and the sheer frenzied pitch of visual ideas that made it all seem so exciting, proved that she, for one, has only future glories in mind.

Of course she did a few old chestnuts from '08, too. The roaring rock of Just Dance was respite from the prevailing machine texture of this year's soundtrack. And she really played that giant seahorse keytar, in case any asshole wants to say otherwise.

She played the piano, too, quite beautifully in the little crystal palace at the far south end of what was surely the most elaborate network of transparent catwalks that ever engulfed an arena floor.

Unfortunately, next to the dazzling dance-pop of G.U.Y. and Donatella, Dope and Born This Way were mawkish and boring stripped down to their power-ballad underwear despite the very touching and tearful audience participation stunt that made quite clear that this lady, whatever you say about her meat dress and lobster hat, changes lives.

Less devoted spectators may have found the self-help stream of her craft a little squirmy – especially the part where she read aloud the love letters some lucky monsters had thrown at her feet, outed them on the big screen and summoned them each to her post-show sanctum.

Her own messages, about drugs and money and paparazzi and exactly who in the room was a star, were kind of mixed, as always. Sitting cross-legged on a throne while lackeys zipped and unzipped her stupendous cossies, her rather fierce lecture on Being An Artist could hardly have been less inclusive if she were stroking a fluffy white cat.

But the little monsters upon whom she so frankly and open-heartedly depends understand. The wow factor is Gaga's core promise, and as long as she keeps it pumping at this pitch in a gold lame Mothra outfit with teddy cannons firing, we'll stand up and give her all the Applause that she and her army of invisible backing singers deserve. Oh crap. Do you think she's still reading?

Lady Gaga will perform at Rod Laver Arena tonight, Sunday, August 24, before heading to Brisbane (August 26) and Sydney (August 30, 31).

Lady Gaga rocks on at Cherry Bar after Melbourne show

August 24, 2014

Chris Hingston

Pop megastar Lady Gaga rocked-on at Melbourne venue Cherry Bar on Saturday night. The 28-year-old Gaga reportedly danced well into the wee hours of Sunday morning at the ACDC Lane venue, while in Melbourne for her artRAVE, The ARTPOP Ball tour.

2:51 AM - 24 Aug 2014

On Saturday night the pop artist performed the first of two shows at Rod Laver Arena, before moving on to Cherry Bar in Melbourne's CBD.

A string of pictures of Lady Gaga partying at the venue were posted on the singer's Instagram account, the artist decked out in fishnets and lingerie.

One post on the pop star's Instagram account showing her dancing on the venue's bar was captioned: "Livin' after midnight. Melbourne Metal Madness".

Cherry Bar's DJ Mermaid described her encounter with the singer on the venue's Facebook page.

"I played at least 10 of her requests as she's a total metal head!" she wrote.

DJ Mermaid said Gaga's first request was AC/DC's Squealer.

"Best part was when I made her preform for me on the bar top to Long Way To The Top (sic). Great night."

Gaga praised DJ Mermaid on her Twitter account on Sunday, writing her metal tunes "gave me the best hangover ever".

It is not Gaga's first night out at a classic Melbourne venue, the singer booking the Northcote Social Club for a private party to celebrate America's Independence Day in 2012.

Gaga and her ensemble reportedly originally wanted Cherry Bar for the 2012 event, but were knocked back by the bar's owners who chose to honour a prior booking instead.

"An innovative system of 100 industrial coolers will be provided for Lady Gaga's"

Organisers promise ‘innovative cooling system’ for fan’s comfort at September concert

Organisers of Lady Gaga’s Middle East debut concert have promised a cool venue at Meydan Dubai on September 10. Promoters AMI, ATW and Live Nation Global Touring said “an innovative cooling system” will ensure fans, or little monsters as they are called, will be provided with 100 units of industrial coolers to ensure the concert is comfortable.

“Competing against the heat of the UAE is always an issue when it comes to outdoor locations, which is why we are pleased to have the opportunity to manufacture a solution to cool different areas of the venue,” said Jonathan Calvert, general manager at Flow, the company supplying the coolers. “With a large portion of our cooling fleet committed to this exclusive project, we look forward to enhancing the concert-goers’ encounter to be cooler than perceived.”

Cool gusts will be propelled more than 20 metres into the air by jet diffusers, which will be located in select areas throughout Meydan Grandstand, said organisers.

“We want the audience to have a comfortable and enjoyable time during this forthcoming event,” says Marco Rios, chairman and CEO of AMI Live. “Not only will this be Lady Gaga’s first performance ever in the region, but AMI Live, along with ATW, are proud to introduce this innovative element and contribute to the comfort and overall satisfaction levels of the audience, while enhancing the overall concert experience in Dubai.”

Gaga’s ArtRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball Tour, in support of her fourth studio album ARTPOP, will make its way to Dubai’s Meydan Racecourse on September 10. Tickets are priced at Dh495 (general admission), Dh750 (grandstand seating) and Dh1,295 (golden circle). VIP tables and suites passes are also available, starting at Dh2,000. Go to www.ticketmaster.ae or call 800 86834. A special website dedicated to the concert has been created at www.ladygaga.ae

Lady Gaga strips off at Brisbane concert

Lady Gaga has stripped down to just fishnet stockings while on stage in Brisbane. During Tuesday night's concert the pop star ripped off a green wig, turned and climbed onto a throne of sorts, while two dressers appeared and began removing the black leather hotpants number she'd been wearing. The songstress tore off her g-string, twirled and flung it into space, leaving her clad only in fishnet stockings, her curvier figure displayed in all its glory on the two big screens.

Costume changes and weirdness galore: Gaga impresses her little monsters. Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images

The dressers worked their magic, sliding her into a multi-coloured neon ensemble, complete with a plastic tunic (Gaga's nipples having been concealed beneath strips of bright yellow tape), furry booties and an enormous purple pigtailed wig. She resembled Sailor Moon crossed with a My Little Pony doll. Then she broke into Bad Romance and the crowd - which had been going wild - went even wilder.

http://https//pbs.twimg.com/media/Bv984JTCMAAfcqy.jpg

"This is what we came to see - Nude Gaga!" yelled a young lass in the crowd.

It was the best moment of a night that was both familiar and so different. Compared to the epic carnival that the was the 2012 Born This Way Ball, Lady Gaga's 2014 offering, the ArtPop Ball, had a stripped back feel about it. Gone was the three storey castle set in favour of a lush and rounded set of igloos, supposedly forming Planet Venus, the location for the evening's bacchanal. Gone was Gaga's participation in complex dance routines - she danced, sure, but having famously broken a hip in early 2013 and taken months to recover, it was more cautious, more natural. And by the climax of festivities, even Lady Gaga's clothes had, well, gone.

"The more they try to change me, the more I want to be myself," she yelled at her adoring monsters after an all-in singalong to Alejandro.

Lady Gaga had first appeared onstage in a glittering gold unitard and wing ensemble - strangely reminiscent of an oversized Golden Snitch - before ditching the excessive layers for her Bottacelli Barbarella outfit (clam shell bikini, ridiculously huge wig). The premise of the show was Gaga as Aphrodite, taking us all to Planet Venus, where we could fulfil the ArtPop manifesto of supporting the artist, putting art first and celebrating the talent inside us all.

About 10 minutes into the show, officially hashtagged #artRAVEBrisbane, many fans of her older albums, The Fame Monster and Born This Way, would have realised they couldn't sing along. Her ArtPop record has not recieved as much attention as its predecessors. So the concert's first bracket of ArtPop G.U.Y, Donatella, Venus and Manicure many would have been left little bewildered. Lady Gaga and her hardcore fans had moved on, but others hadn't.

Thankfully the strains of Just Dance kicked in, Gaga reappeared in a glitteringly white mini-dress with a seahorse keytar, and launched into a bracket of her earlier work that got the crowd very excited. Poker Face was followed by a fragment of Telephone (a disappointment for the devotees of that superb dance number), then Paparazzi. The ArtPop staging may have been smaller on a Gaga scale, but it was still full of surprises. Inflatable flowers burst from the twin catwalks, confetti cannons went off at regular intervals, and a podium lift allowed Gaga to rise above the crowd in a giant silver hand-shaped throne for Do What U Want. The costume changes were a highlight, including an incredible pink and black inflatable Kraken dress. Yes, Gaga dressed as a disco squid, and it was fabulous.

The middle section of the show allowed Gaga to get up close with her monsters while she sat at her piano, hidden in a pink icicled fortress of solitude at the end of one of the catwalks. An acoustic version of Dope, an incredibly personal song detailing her struggle with addiction as she recovered from the broken hip, was sensational. She pulled a young woman named Lisa out of the crowd to join her onstage, after reading a letter she had attached to a pink cardigan and launched at the singer. This seemed to be the new thing, something that had developed during the ArtPop movement - write a letter to Gaga paying tribute to how she had empowered you, somehow get it onstage, hope she picked it up and read it aloud, at which point she would grant you post-show backstage rights.

It fits the Gaga-as-goddess theme, but it's easy to be cynical. The singer obsesses about her fans more than any other pop star going, and singing an acoustic version of the anthemic Born This Way with Lisa sitting alongside, grinning from ear to ear, was a truly sweet moment of connection. Lisa disappeared beneath the stage with Gaga, as she changed into the black leather number for the B&D section of the show. Her dancers entertained by firing cannons at the crowd filled with tiny toy unicorns. The girl in front of me caught one, and I almost cried out in jealousy. Over a unicorn toy.

A few acapella lines of the Edge of Glory chorus had many very excited, but a full version was not to be, Gaga instead launching into a fragment of Judas followed by the new songs Aura and Sexxx Dreams. She read another fan letter, asked the crowd to give her dancers a round of applause for their "nice asses", then demanded more energy as the strains of Alejandro began. "How good is this?" yelled the young lass in the crowd, who had arrived late and missed Gaga's request that people look at the stage and at their friends, not at their phones, because "f--- the internet".

The nude costume change and Bad Romance followed, then Gaga told the crowd she wrote Applause because when she was laid up, she could still hear them cheering, and realised she lived only to make her fans happy. The crowd pulsed in time as the lasers went overtime and more t-shirts and toys were flung at the crowd.

Swine was an odd choice for a finale. But after a long break, Lady Gaga appeared one final time, looking like Agnetha from Abba crossed with an albino Morticia. She hauled a little girl, no more than eight, onto the stage, showing off her little Aphrodite bikini. "I saw you singing all the words, and I wanted to bring you onstage," she said to the thrilled youngster.

The pair resettled on the piano where Gaga again paid tribute to her fans, and began Gypsy, a bittersweet number about the ups and downs of life on the road. Fans danced in huge circles with each other on the floor, adding to the joy of the last moments of the night. And that was it. Gaga and her band took a bow, then disappeared with the young girl beneath the stage (presumably her parents got her back).

For many The ArtPop Ball tour won't have the real zeitgeist magic of the Born This Way Ball, but it might just be because of a "things were better in my day" attitude. ArtPop is more of a fan record, having not had as much widespread saturation as previous albums, when Gaga was last seen in an outrageous outfit.

It was telling that just before the encore, Gaga ripped off her purple pigtails to reveal a shock of sweaty black hair - her own. She's now recording duets with Tony Bennett, and her solos at the piano were a reminder of just how good her voice is when stripped back and left to soar. ArtPop just may have been Gaga's last disco hurrah before her transformation into a true torch singer. And it'll be fans' job to keep up.

Lady Gaga joins Queen on stage for surprise performance in Sydney

Pop chameleon Lady Gaga joined classic British rock band Queen for a surprise joint performance on stage at Sydney's Allphones Arena on Wednesday night.

Gaga sidled on stage wearing a comical black curly wig, bejewelled black jumpsuit and lethal-looking stilettos for the hit Another One Bites The Dust.

Gaga and new Queen lead singer Adam Lambert delighted the crowd, hamming it up during their duo on the Allphones runway but she departed after one song.

Perhaps surprisingly she didn't stay for the 1984 hit Radio Gaga, the song that inspired Stefani Germanotta's stage name. But maybe she had to duck away to begin preparations for her own headlining concert spectacular at the same venue this Sunday. Lambert, a former American Idol star, did an impressive job performing the anthems the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury made world-famous with his incomparable voice and dramatic stage presence. Lambert did justice to Mercury's enormous legacy, delivering his own brand of showy charisma without stealing the show. He even thanked the audience for accepting him in Freddie's place. "I'd have no idea what I was doing with this music if it wasn't for the late great Freddie Mercury." Mercury's metaphorical shadow loomed large over the gig, as it would this being Queen's first world tour in over 20 years - and since their legendary frontman died from an AIDS-related illness. At times his appearance loomed large too, on a giant screen behind the band. A clip of Mercury even "shared" vocal duties on Bohemian Rhapsody with Lambert, who would be celebrated were he not being compared to arguably the greatest frontman ever.

If anything the gig was more about founding guitarist Brian May, whose playing was as sharp as ever on several solos - which perhaps went on too long. Undoubtedly the best moments included Lambert too, but the stand out moment was Lady Gaga sexing up the show with Lambert.

Lady Gaga Joins Queen for 'Another One Bites the Dust' in Sydney

http://assets.rollingstone.com/assets/2014/article/lady-gaga-joins-queen-for-another-one-bites-the-dust-in-sydney-20140827/166214/medium_rect/510x287-450414098%20copy.jpg

Thanks to an unlikely intersection of Australian tour routes, Lady Gaga was able to make a surprise appearance with the Adam Lambert-fronted Queen at the band's Sydney stop on August 27th. The Artpop singer joined the group onstage for a performance of "Another One Bites the Dust," with Gaga wearing a giant Afro and dark jumpsuit with little crowns embossed on it, since this was a Queen show. The Australian leg of Gaga's artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball trek kicked off earlier this week.

Brian May also tweeted a selfie of himself and Gaga post-show, and Gaga followed suit on Instagram with a pic of her with the whole group. While the collision of Gaga and Queen may seem random, she has actually worked with both Lambert and Brian May in the past: She co-wrote the track "Fever" which appeared on Lambert's debut LP, For Your Entertainment, while May played guitar on Gaga's Born This Way single "Yoü and I," a song that also featured a sample of Queen's "We Will Rock You." With that in mind, the most surprising part about Gaga's Queen appearance is that she sang "Another One Bites the Dust" instead of "Radio Ga Ga."

While the Artpop era winds down in the coming months, Gaga has already begun promoting her next project, her collaborative album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett. The duo just unveiled the video for "I Can't Give You Anything but Love" from their LP of classic standards, which will arrive on September 23rd. The pair will also present their PBS concert special Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live! , filmed at Lincoln Center, on October 24th

According to a statement of the producers and article in the news Gaga will still perform in Tel Aviv, Israel during the cease fire between Hamas and Israel that is valid for a month.

I wonder if this means she'll be performing on the Russia-Ukraine border too :o

A video released by Lady Gaga in which she greets her Israel fans with a “Shalom” has provoked mixed responses from Arab fans and social medial users.

"Shalom, Israel," the pop superstar said in the brief greeting. "I'm so excited to perform my new tour in Tel Aviv," she added in reference to her concert scheduled for Sept. 13. The short video message has gone viral online, with many Arab users labeling her as “disgusting” and "devilish” and having “no sensitivities” amid the recent Israeli offensive on Gaza which resulted in the deaths of more than 2,000 Palestinians and more than 73 Israelis.

“She is disgusting and I never liked her because her values are nonexistent. Now she has validated everything I have ever thought of it,” one Facebook user wrote.

Another seemingly non-Arab user wrote:

“The lack of sensitivity is, in my opinion, the worst of the sins!”

But other users expressed anger at the negative reactions to Gaga’s message.

“I'm no fan of hers, and I doubt her intentions are humanitarian, but the reactions here seem disproportionate to what she said in the video. If you think that a performer shouldn't visit or perform in any country which is occupying another country/land and causing unnecessary suffering for those who are occupied, then let's hope you were equally disgusted by any non-

American artist performing in the United States between 2003 and 2011 for the exact same reasons,” one user wrote.

Gaga’s announcement came as a number of artists canceled or postponed their shows because of the recent conflict, which ended last week in accordance with a ceasefire agreement. Among the artists who canceled we're Neil Young, America, the Backstreet Boys and Lana Del Rey.

Before playing in Israel, Gaga’s ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball Tour will come to Dubai on Sept. 10, in wat will be her first concert in the Arab world. The tour is in support of her fourth studio album ARTPOP.

American star Lady Gaga will be stopping by the Olympic Stadium in Athens on September 19 as part of her world tour entitled “Lady Gaga’s artRAVE: the Artpop Ball.” With over 4 million tickets to her credit, the Lady Gaga live machine is coming to Athens for the first time, as announced today by Live Nation Entertainment president Arthur Fogel. The company has revolutionized the ever more popular pop concert venue, buying the rights of international stars such as Madonna, U2, Jay-Z and Shakira.

The world tour is set to support Lady Gaga’s multiplatinum “Artpop” album, which reached the top of the Billboard charts in the first week of its release. During the live show, she will be performing both the album’s big hits and a retrospective of her older songs.

Gaga addresses ticket sales and 'Aura' controversy in Dubai

Dubai: Never let it be said that Lady Gaga isn’t articulate after a long flight,-or that she can’t turn “travel-weary” to “photo-ready” in record time.

The pop star, scheduled to perform at Meydan Racecourse on September 10, arrived in Dubai on Monday night. She met with members of the press in a VIP room at the Dubai International Airport shortly after landing. She was clad in a floor length golden gown paired with a sparkling blue headpiece, created by a Dubai-based designer (“I will be posting it on my Instagram with all of the information and you’ll be able to report about it,” she said), as she fielded questions about whether or not she would be baring it all on stage.

“No, I will not be. I respect the culture here and this show will be a appropriate for all the fans here in Dubai,” she said. When her Dubai show was first announced, organisers told tabloid! there would be “some edits” for the region. Gaga expanded on this.

“They mentioned to me that there were some restrictions, and I know there are some artists that are very strict about their policies of adhering to their art and not compromising, but I actually think it’s important to respect other cultures and not force them to adhere to the beliefs of your own country, and in fact, I think it’s a better way to connect with the people and to connect a message,” Gaga said.

She was prodded also about her controversial song, Aura, which mentions the burqa — a religious covering of the face.“At the end of the song, we mention the burqa. The song Aura is about the aura that we all carry with us. Our essence,” she said. “And I say, do you want to see the girl behind the aura? Meaning: the presence and the image I’ve projected for years, are you interested in knowing what’s underneath all of that? So, the burqa, the curtain, the veil, these are all metaphors I use to bring fans from all over the world with different cultures together.”

Her world tour, ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball, has been a year in the making. She says she will be in Dubai for four days on her first Middle East stop, and hopes to experience the fashion, food and artistry.“Some people are from Dubai that will be working, actually, with my wardrobe department which will be wonderful. But most of the crew that will be here are from my world tour and from the United States and some are from the United Kingdom. It’s a whole assortment.”

Gaga kept it short when it came to certain topics, like what she thought of her Dubai show failing to sell out all tickets: “Next question, please.” How about how she handles her critics? “Just fine. Thanks for writing all the stories.”

OMFG how rude are they asking her about the show not selling out and her responses are so classy, I LOVE this woman so much!

I wonder if this means its making a comeback to the setlist? I remember when I was at the BTWB and she sang it, I cried so f***ing much omg :( the girls behind me were wiping my face with a tissue while I was screaming and then it was the acoustic of BTW and she invited people on stage, and I never got invited! I WAS A f***ING MESS UGH

artRAVE has grossed $18,532,093 for the North American leg and $1,661,546 for the Australian leg so far, I'm still pressed that she does a Middle East leg but still hasn't announced a Latin America leg nor dates in South Africa tho :drama: Both Latin America and South Africa are gold mines for tour earnings UGH!

(and I want to see her again of course :( )

Times of Israel:

Gaga's artRAVE wakes Tel Aviv from war-induced slumber

http://cdn.timesofisrael.com/uploads/2014/09/gaga3-635x357.jpg

If Lady Gaga lives for "Applause," as she sings, then she got one hell of a life force coming from the crowd in Tel Aviv Saturday night – and the pop star certainly reciprocated.

The crowd of more than 25,000 seemed desperate to lap up some of the indefatigable pop star's vitality and Gaga obliged, giving more and more to the audience for nearly two hours.

"artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball" [...] was an extravaganza, a spectacle that even the most reluctant parent escorting hysterically shrieking tweens could not take his or her eyes off.

Throughout the show, it was hard to decide what was more electrifying – Lady Gaga powerfully belting out her hits, or the intensely wacky costumes she and her dancers were sporting.

Still, Gaga was most impressive when she wasn't hiding behind all the bells and whistles of her futuristic imagery and electronic beats and just let her strong voice shine. Lady Gaga brought out crooner Tony Bennett, [...] Still, Lady Gaga's pipes could not be denied, and sporting a long pink dress and a giant, black, curly Cher-in-the-80s wig, she proved she could sing jazz with the best.

She showed similar strength in singing ballads like "You and I," and a broken- down version of her self-love anthem "Born This Way."

While it's hard to imagine how she could have energy for another concert, let alone another tour, after her frenzied performance on Saturday, she left the crowd hoping she'll come back much, much sooner next time.
