I have floor tickets, not the special ones though.

The Born This Way Ball is probably the best (or second best after P!nk's latest tour) concert I've been to. I bet this is amazing as well. Just hope it's sold out

She's in Sweden tonight and it's so sold-out that they've had to add extra seats outside their capacity, I'm not sure how Germany's sales are looking tho

Previous attendance in Sweden:

- P!nk, The Truth About Love Tour : 14,975

- Beyoncé, The Mrs Carter Show World

Tour : 13,934

- Rihanna, Diamonds World Tour : 13,929

- Gaga, The Born This Way Ball : 13,723 (x2)

I'll do a full review eventually but i'm still in awe/exhausted from it now.

Absolutely bonkers and spectacular night. The colour/energy/passion. She hasn't lost any of it.

The setlist was incredible. She performed EVERYTHING (

well 'The Edge of Glory' got a few lines and 'Lovegame'/'Marry The Night' were snubbed (despite MTN getting one of the biggest reactions when she talked about her singles booo) BUT she did 'Bang Bang' to make up for it *.*

). Apart from that there were no glaring omissions and it was the perfect mix of new and old material :D

Gah. She has my heart locked with her all over again. Will post full review soon maybe ~

My throat hurts and believe it or not i woke up feeling SAD!? I just miss it all and don't have it to look forward to now which is upsetting lol.

I was very far back so no touching/she didn't LOOK AT ME this time but it was still special. You'd have been so proud of her and hopefully they do a DVD so you can experience it too.

Will do a review tonight or whenever i get to my laptop :P

I'm SO jealous, you have no idea! I need that review, it's my only hope of dreaming I was at artRAVE, unless a DVD surfaces for it! And rumour has it there will be one from the London show apparently ;o

*SPOILERS*

My views after two days to COOL DOWN from it. Such a high throughout the night~

"Artpop"

Wonderful start to the show. Not as explosive as 'Dance in the Dark' or as spectacular as 'Highway Unicorn' and her entrance onto the stage could have missed if you weren't looking hard enough, but when she got started it made full sense to have it as the opener. I cried. 7/10

"G.U.Y."

Sounded HUGE live. She demanded everyone got up on their feet and danced and it was just what was needed after the slightly more mellow start. Really got the party started. 10/10

"Donatella"

One of my least fave on the album and it wasn't a highlight here, though i did enjoy it more than i thought. Her vocals were a bit all over the place from what i remember, mainly because the song is a bit of a mess. ShadeT 5/10

"Venus"

I was looking most forward to this and a few others, and it did not disappoint. The middle-8 (saturn...mars... etc) was so brilliant although she could have made more of "my ass is famous" but i think she was just so caught up in it that it got lost a bit (or i was enjoying myself too much to notice? idk). SO GOOD and it struck me as soon as it finished that it really should have been the second single, oops. So bonkers that it could have worked but no changing the past now~ 10/10

"Manicure"

The second of three i was REALLY looking forward to and i loved every second of it. Saw a couple taking their toilet break here and people around me didn't seem to get it as much but i went absolutely bonkers for it. It's become one of my album highlights and it sounded just as good, if not better live. When i relistened to the album earlier, as soon as this came on i was transported straight back to the venue. 9/10

"Just Dance"

She gave a little speech about her career so far and how it's been 6 years and what it all meant. When she started this the whole arena exploded. Was such a moment and shows how dear the song and her birth is to so many people. 8/10

"Poker Face"

Same as above. Again the opening to this was iconic and everyone was going barmy to it. 8/10

"Telephone"

Didn't even know what song this was when it began out of PF Lol. It was a bit of a cut up version but once i recognised it, it was fun i suppose. Not the best though. 4/10

"Partynauseous" (interlude)

Didn't recognise this until i heard "lady GAGA / partynauseous" - the interludes were all very good and kept the energy going well. This one was quite long but still frantic and enjoyable

"Paparazzi"

Dipped a little in the next two songs for me. This was nice, but it was pitched slightly weird. People weren't quite sure whether they were loving it or not. 4/10

"Do What U Want"

God this wasn't a highlight. I sort of forgot about it in the run up to the show, and forgot it was due to come even in the show which is odd because i LOVE it. Maybe the fact i forgot it was a reason i didn't enjoy it as much, or maybe it just didn't work the way she did it. I wanted to love it but again i wasn't sure whether to go crazy to it or just sway along. Odd couple of songs and though they make sense being close to each other because they're about the media etc, it was the low point of the show for me. 5/10 :(

"Dope"

Dedicated this to any alcoholics in the room, saying she doesn't judge them. Wasn't huge on the song before but hearing it live really sold it to me. The first proper tender moment and her vocals were stunning and probably the best of the night in these 5 minutes. Blown away. 10/10

"Yoü and I"

Got a huge reaction which i didn't expect. Brought the energy up slightly and of course the constant shouts to BIRMINGHAM helped liven the crowd after Dope. 8/10

"Born This Way"

She picked up a letter that a fan threw onto the stage and read it out to everyone. It was about a boy that was bullied/struggled through his teenage years before Gaga helped him to come out to his parents, and now he's happy with his boyfriend. She found and brought him and his boyfriend onto stage and dedicated this to his mum (who was also there). Sounds really cheesy etc but i cried throughout it all because it related to so many people there. Wonderful moment 10/10

"The Edge of Glory"

Really wanted her to do this properly but she only sang two lines from it Lol. 2/10

"Judas"

Didn't even expect this in the setlist but she did it and did it AMAZINGLY. So much energy and everyone was loving it. 9/10

"Aura"

One i was really looking forward to but it almost got lost inbetween Judas and Sexxx Dreams. Still amazing though and re-loving the song all over again too! 7/10

"Sexxx Dreams"

So so so good. Got a reaction from the crowd as if it was one of her BIG singles. She stripped off for it and gave it her all. Couldn't see much of what was going on because she was confined to a sofabed thing but the song itself was a roaring moment. 10/10

"Mary Jane Holland"

Lol the song sounded ok, but the choreography was awful. She had a bunch of chairs that she kept positioning on her body and it didn't really work. 4/10

"Jewels and Drugs" (interlude)

This was done so well. It was the three raps one after the other before Gaga's chorus at the end of them. The song wasn't even performed live but i haven't stopped singing it since the show finished. One of the ones that stuck with me most and it was only used in an interlude Lol.

"Alejandro"

Amazing. No one else seemed to be loving it but it's a highlight of her career for me so i was naturally loving it. 8/10

"Bang Bang"

Came out of the blue in her black afro wig and 'Cheek 2 Cheek' garbs but didn't really feel out of place. Wonderfully sang and so atmospheric if a little dreary 6/10

"Bad Romance"

"Lady Gaga performing her hit single... Bad Romance". Crowd go crazy. You know the story ~ 10/10

"Applause"

Another explosive moment. Really made sense hearing it live with thousands of people literally giving their applause and their all to her. Would have worked better as the final song before the encore but she had one more treat for us it seemed. 9/10

"Swine"

This is easily my least favourite on the album BUT something happened with it hearing it live. She talked about how the album was made up of a lot of her hate towards people that wronged her and how she channeled all of that into the harsh, thumping sounds of the album. Then this started and it was such a moment. I remember loving the song when it was performed live at the iTunes festival and it happened again here - maybe it's a song that works better live because you can actually SEE the pain that she feels singing it. She completely went for it, her ferocious "SWINE!!!" chants and her abrasive vocals. It was a spectacular end. 10/10

"Gypsy"

Why was this not a single? She started it off on the piano, singing the first verse beautifully, before the flashing lights kicked in and it was turned up a notch. A global song and probably one of the first times a non-single is used as the encore, but it fully works because the song is about being on the road, the fans and everything that makes her special. I cried throughout it all but it was so uplifting and euphoric. Her elegant dress hopefully giving a sign of what is to come in the future. A beautiful end to a beautiful show. 10/10

All in all i was completely blown away. I wasn't as close to her as i've been in the past (both physically and mentally) but she has a way of keeping the audience in the palm of her hands. It was so fun to see her joking around and her vocals were stupendous throughout - the slow piano moments were the highlights because of this reason but also because she had a chance to really connect to the audience. I don't think i'd place it above the past two tours, but it is high up there and proves why she is still such a force. The vibrancy of the set, the costumes, the music gives the album so much life. There was a lot on self-belief which we've come to expect now and though i was so appreciative of it, i know not everyone would have been because it can be a bit MUCH at times. But her fans demand it and rely on her words so she needs to keep it up.

She promised fans that all she cared about was making music and that she's in it for the long run. There was a lot of talk about where she's come and fans sticking by her, coupled with her sticking by US so it was a lovely merging of the two. There'll be many more tours where this came from and i'm so glad she looked so happy and healthy and ready to continue paving her legacy and art <3

Thanks for the review.

It has me even more (if that's possible) excited for my turn at the o2 next Sunday!!

BAL's review http://i.imgur.com/hN9L5Hj.gif

I always pictured MJH as a highlight tho - the ultimate arena drunk hands in the air anthem. I somehow have to scrape myself together and come to terms that Gaga will not be announcing a date in my country for this tour ;(

All we need is Toby's review now, and is it true that there are marijuana leaves as confetti during the show?

In other news, there are already monsters at the Barcelona stadium, 22 days before the show there [/lol]

  • Author

MJH sounded very good but the choreography was a bit of a mess :(

I loved the start to it though... "i can smell marijuana..." *beat kicks in.... "LADY OF THE DARK"* *.* there was confetti but i was too far away to see exactly what it was.

ALSO not sure if it came across in my review but another highlight was just how funny she was! "We've had someone faint, people throw up, chucked out... So all-in-all a successful artRAVE :)" Lol.

I'm not gonna do a review because i would be a tiny bit biased :kink:

I will say Bad Romance was stunning<< The crowd went f***ing INSANE.
