December 3, 201311 yr You can LITERALLY hear the tumbleweed. As someone who enjoyed the "landfill indie" phrase of the 2000s, even I can admit this group were proper shit.
December 8, 201311 yr Author Well I've always loved them and their "Future is Medieval" material was great. I have no doubt this is going to be a brilliant album.
December 8, 201311 yr I think they've been on a declining rate of return ever since Employment, which I thought was an excellent album.
December 8, 201311 yr I loved their material till Off With Their Heads... couldn't be bothered with anything else after that album but I admit I've been lazy and should give them a chance once again.
December 9, 201311 yr I'm actually looking forward to this and actually liked their last 2 albums a lot. Judging from the trailer, it sounds like vintage Kaiser Chiefs to me, which is certainly not a bad thing!
December 10, 201311 yr Great time to release, with the voice etc the name will be more out there, i really didnt expect another album from them as their last few releases havnt done well, im glad they are releasing new material and unlike other bands are staying together.
January 6, 201411 yr Each album has been worse than the last so far, but this sounds like it'll buck the trend. 'Employment' remains one of the two or three best albums of the mid-noughties indie explosion and 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' was half great as well.
January 7, 201411 yr Great time to release, with the voice etc the name will be more out there It's no coincidence is it? I don't think Universal would have put this out had Ricky Wilson not been about to become "the new Irish bloke" on The Voice. It'll probably be their biggest hit since their debut LP which will prove that some people buy music based on who somebody is rather than what it sounds like. Ricky Wilson is very likeable - I have no doubt he will become very popular with a public who may not have seen him before. But it's hardly about the music is it?
February 20, 201411 yr Author So the official first single is Coming Home and it's surprisingly great! The chorus is immense! MPipMQvKgKk
February 20, 201411 yr Yes I agree, surprisingly great! I heard it on the radio and was shocked to find out it was Kaiser Chiefs.
March 24, 201411 yr Author Stream: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog...ar-album-stream Pretty good stuff on first listen.
