Posted December 9, 201311 yr How I compile my charts: With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay. Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80's/90's singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1. This week's chart commentary: * 'Story Of My Life' becomes One Direction's third #2 hit, to add to their trio of #1 hits; it is also officially the slowest burning of any One Direction single, having taken 6 weeks to reach its peak so far! * Previous two Chvrches singles both peaked at #11; 'Lies' duly becomes their first ever Top 10 hit on this chart. * 'Slumville Sunrise' is Jake Bugg's 6th consecutive Top 10 hit on this chart - impressive considering that he's only ever had two Top 40 hits officially! 1 (1) Lady Gaga feat. December 11, 201311 yr Hi! :D I heard Little Mix's new track for the first time today and it sounded very good! Should be another Top 20 for them in the bag! I love Avicii's 'Hey Brother', would really like it to be #1 this Sunday although I think it's still got a lot of caching up to do with 'Somewhere Only We Know', even if sales will be low this week. Avicii's great at making catchy dance songs that don't really sound generic, perhaps helped by the country element he's included in a couple of his tracks. May have to give his album a go! ^_^

May have to give his album a go! ^_^ Hey :D Yeah I'm actually hoping Little Me will go Top 10, it certainly has the potential to do so! It will be an exciting Top 2 on Sunday, it could go either way between Avicii and Lily I reckon. It's the sign of a great song that it's challenging for #1 and outpeaking the previous single, despite being post-album! The album has some good songs on it, but a few fillers too IMO.
