December 10, 201312 yr Yay. I shall give Finland some time, and have a brief listen of all the 30-sec clips here, see what I can glean: Mikko - Ed Sheeran/Passenger entrant. In Finnish though so could be okay. Madcraft - Random trash pop group. Will get nowhere. Clarissa/Josh - I think plenty of people here will like this, that sounds like a good strong pop chorus there. Lauri - Sounds pretty powerful, could go either way with full version to be honest. Jasmin - Quirky Finnish pop, not gonna win as not powerful enough. Hukkja ja Mama - Jesus, scary pic. Song a bit lacklustre though. Hanna Sky - Bit dull, sounds like a pop ballad just possibly approaching midtempo but too light to do anything. MAKEA - My favourite so far, Haloo Helsinki-esque I think. Dennis - Surprisingly not repulsive as I was guessing based on that title and his photo. One of the best here even. Softengine - Well it looks like this is the closest we're gonna get to rock representation this year. Nothing too hard though, and doesn't sound like it'll go anywhere. Lili - You will all (probably) love this. I'm not so much a fan. MIAU - In contrast, this should also be pretty popular here and I do like it, if only for the weird juxtaposition of the two things in the title. Not the BEST selection Finland has ever come up with, the lack of a good rock song is a bit disappointing, but there is enough that sounds like it could be good in full form, always nice to see a load of new artists too.

December 25, 201312 yr All the artists are basically unknown except Miau who have decent indie following. Surprised to see them here. Will listen to the full songs when they are available.
January 2, 201412 yr Author Mikko Pohjola - Sängyn reunalla --- Quite fab. MadCraft - Shining Bright --- This is shit. Clarissa feat. Josh - Top of the World --- Production is pretty darn amazing. The Josh guy (painfully gay too) is hawt and has a FANTASTIC voice. The Clarissa one I would ditch though. Lauri Mikkola - Going Down --- Sounds like two songs stuck together just for the sake of it. Don't get it. Jasmin Michaela - Kertakäyttösydän --- This is pretty amazing. The voice is fabulous, and finally someone who fits the song vocally. I wouldn't be surprised if this won the whole thing. Hukka ja Mama - Selja --- Not as comedy as I hoped from the picture oops. Hanna Sky - Hope --- So blah. MAKEA - Painovoima --- Ugh. No. Dennis Fagerström - My Little Honey Bee --- DIE. Softengine - Something Better --- Something better indeed. Rather good. Vocals match the song at least. Lili Lambert - Let Me Take You There --- It's good but it still lacks something that for example Margaret Berger last year had. MIAU - God/Drug --- Weird title indeed but this is rather good too. xxx Jasmin to win yesss

January 8, 201412 yr The first of two heats will be broadcasted on Saturday 11th of January. The following 6 contenders will compete in this heat. MIAU – God/Drug Dennis Fagerström – My little honey bee Lili Lambert – Let me take you there Hukka ja Mama – Selja Softengine – Something better Jasmin Michaela – Kertakäyttösydän One act will go straight to the final, 4 contenders will compete in a semi final and last place will be eliminated from the contest.
January 8, 201412 yr Untested as it is, I've got a feeling in my waters that Hannah Sky might do rather well!
February 1, 201412 yr Some really weak pop-rock. Either go hard or go home Finland. (hint: you should have sent Arion last year) I don't think this is going to make it out of the semi, unless it suddenly gets a lot stronger before May. :( Very weak UMK anyway.
February 1, 201412 yr Hmm, I don't know, you may like Hanna Sky, MIAU or the Clarissa/Josh song but this really wasn't a vintage year for Finland and I'm probably not gonna listen to any of them beyond now to be honest. :(
February 2, 201412 yr If the lead singer could actually sing in tune then I'd most likely be rather fond of this but as it stands, that vocal is the sound of the Copenhagen to Helsinki flights being booked for the morning of May 9th!
February 5, 201412 yr I like it! The Imagine Dragons and Fun -esque pop rock could do well this year.
