I enjoyed it, but nowhere near as good as I thought it would be. The first third was very strong, but it did really go downhill

once Bryan Cranston died. Aaron Johnson just didn't really do it for me as the lead character, he was just a bit dry and robot like. Typical All-American Hero character. The film would have been much stronger with Cranston alive at least.

I agree with the reviews that there was a complete lack of character development. Maybe it would have been better if there were 3/4 main characters in the thick of things, cos not once did I ever feel that any of the characters were in danger. That said Godzilla did look absolutely incredible.

I watched this movie at the cinema two days ago. I was very enthusiastic about this!! I have watched the official trailer a long time ago and I didn't want to miss it for anything!! It was one of the most anticipated movies this year!! So, I went with my friends to a big multiplex far away from my home. The big screens are always the best for these kind of movies.

Gareth Edwards is the director of the movie. He hasn't got a big filmography so we didn't know many thing about him. However, it seemed that Warner Bros. trusted him in this ambituous project. The visual and sound effects were really great but I was a little bit disappointed about the screenplay. It had a lot of cliche scenes especially at the beginning (Family tragedies, crying). The director/producers also used two radioactive mosters but we were expected to watch only Godzilla. Of course, it had action and suspense but it happened certainly at the end of the film (in the last 45 minutes). I thought that it would be an amazing adventure movie but I felt it had something missing. However, it's not so bad overall. One of the most positive things about this film was the unpredictable casting (Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche). It's always pleasant when you see actors/actresses in different roles. The cinematography was very good and the editing team did a great job! The soundtrack also gave a scary atmosphere to the film!

Godzilla had an impressive start at the Box Office and it has already overcome its budget worldwide!!! It has gathered a decent average score in Imdb (7.3) too. Personally I would give it a 7 with leniency but I would give a 10/10 to the official trailer!! It could be the best blockbuster of this summer but I think that another film will make the difference..

I went to see this with my partner two weeks ago and to be honest I thought it was amazing! On the otherhand, my other half thought it was naff once Bryan cranston died.

I however loved it. The visuals were amazing!! Godzilla looked so good! Definitely a lot better than on the first Hollywood Movie. I must admit, I was a bit disappointed that Godzilla wasn't a bad guy in the movie but it still worked.

Also, concidering this only had a budget of £140 Million, it looked much much better than other films with the same amount of special effects that cost more.

Really impressed.
