Hey Rich!

I was betting on Sara for #1 on the albums but you sure like some Avicii!

1. Avicii & B & B And Choir - We Write the Story

4. Cascada - Glorious Not really gone back to this since it undeservedly failed at Eurovision. :( Was my favourite song of the year from March to May but at least 10 may have overtaken by the time I sort my own EOY out

5. Janet Leon - Heartstrings

6. Avicii vs. Nicky Romero - I Could Be the One 2nd favourite video of the year (behind a certain boyband who recently got their own AF ), the only Avicii track that hasn't tired on me either, it's just so feelgood.

7. Avicii feat Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up

10. Passenger - Let Her Go Loved this when I first heard it last October. By the time it became popular that was IT

11. Lady Gaga - Applause

12. Hozier - Take Me To Church Let's pretend I never hated this :teresa:

13. Margaret Berger - I Feed You My Love

14. Katy Perry - Roar

15. Anton Ewald - Begging

16. Sara Bareilles - Chasing The Sun

17. Daft Punk feat Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky

21. Zlata Ognevich - Gravity

23. Will.I.Am feat Britney Spears - Scream & Shout

24. Emmelie de Forest - Only Teardrops

25. Stafford Brothers feat Lil Wayne & Christina Milian - Hello

26. Avicii - Hey Brother

28. Leona Lewis - One More Sleep

32. Ellie Goulding - Figure 8

33. Bastille - Pompeii

34. Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah - Drinking from the Bottle Great to see another fan! Always was my favourite from 18 Months, radio made me despise I Need Your Love

35. Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I Love You

36. Icona Pop feat Charli XCX - I Love It

37. Sara Bareilles - Brave

38. Adelén - Bombo

39. Mariah Carey feat Miguel - #Beautiful

43. Loreen - We Got the Power

44. Lady Gaga - Gypsy

47. The Saturdays - What About Us (feat. Sean Paul)

48. Boyzone - Love Will Save The Day

49. Zedd feat Foxes - Clarity

50. Zedd feat Bright Lights - Follow You Down

51. Matt Cardle & Melanie C - Loving You

52. Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree

53. OneRepublic - Counting Stars

56. Gary Barlow - Let Me Go

57. Avicii feat Salem Al Fakir - You Make Me

58. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Mary Lambert - Same Love

62. Robin Stjernberg - You

64. Lady Gaga feat R. Kelly - Do What U Want

65. The Saturdays - Disco Love

67. Dina Garipova - What If Completely forgot this one, felt pretty underrated, beautiful Russian ballad and easily their best since '07

73. Bonnie Tyler - Believe In Me

77. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Wanz - Thrift Shop

78. Pitbull feat Ke$ha - Timber

80. Little Mix - Move

81. Lily Allen - Hard Out Here

83. Vance Joy - Riptide

90. Taylor Swift feat Ed Sheeran - Everything Has Changed

94. John Newman - Love Me Again

96. Janet Leon - New Colours

97. Demi Lovato - Heart Attack

99. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball

Great selection here and always one to throw up a couple of surprises/great tunes that slipped my mind as the year went by! :D

Thanks Jack, Sara got incredibly close but was overtaken at the death by the Avicii album, as it just has a few more highlights. The I Could Be The One video is fantastic, what 1D video do you prefer to it? My favourite videos of the year are that, Take Me To Church and Spin My World. Yes, Glorious lived up to its name, I still listen to it every now and then. Poor Passenger, he had his success in my chart before it became big here too, I tried to ignore its existence during that time so that I wouldn't get sick of it!

Hozier is too good to hate, epic tune! Agree with you about Calvin, I adore it but nobody else seems to care much about that or Let's Go (my other fave from that run of singles). Russia's song was a bit of a moment live and really made it ten times better for me, I think its 5th place was about right. It was a great top five in ESC this year with the exception of the always overrated Azerbaijan.

I didn't even realise Avicii would end up with so many songs that high AND the #1 album! For true looning, check out Delta's results in my EOY 2003...

Thanks Jack, Sara got incredibly close but was overtaken at the death by the Avicii album, as it just has a few more highlights. "Best Song Ever" (although thinking about it I do love the other two 1D videos from this year too :kink:). "La La La" rounds out my video top 3 unless I'm forgetting something ("The Fox" is pretty iconic too). Shame "Holes" hasn't taken off for Passenger, I don't mind that one.

"Let's Go" is OK, "Feel So Close" is one of my favourites from him along with "Under Control" (too bad that isn't sticking around very well). I'm just glad Azerbaijan couldn't go all the way, the performance gimmick was alright but it's my least favourite song from them. Topping "Always" and the beautiful "When The Music Dies" (along with big favourite "Drip Drop") seems crazy!

Full recaps, should anybody wish to comment :D

Haha, I like two of the three videos but I find the Story Of My Life video so freaky, I don't like the whole 'photos come to life' thing. I find Holes very dull so I'm the opposite to you there, his whole album was a bit bland in fact apart from the brilliant bonus track I Hate.

I never liked Feel So Close that much, love the music but not his vocals on it. And Under Control I also find quite average for him, which is a shame as I love Hurts! Indeed, it would have been a massive anticlimax for me to have gone to Eurovision and see THAT win, thank god for Only Teardrops. They seem to do best with their worst songs, although they always do very well regardless!

  • 4 weeks later...
but having Natalie Horler walk over my head waving to the crowd over the bridge at Eurovision was quite a moment

I assume we're not talking of a Sharon Stone scenario, here? :w00t:
