That was expected..the label try to get the maximum profit before with a full price and then discounted for getting other people that are not die hard fan but have liked leona in the past, considering we do not have a single charting

Not expected in first week or mid-week

I don't think they probably planned to change the price this early, but it started to free fall quickly today and was at #23 an hour or so ago, so this has had an effect as its climbed up to 19, so hopefully it keeps going.

Edit: Up to 18 now.

This it the problem when acts like Leona aren't established enough follow the global release day, they are spread too thin.

Germany is her second biggest market, Glassheart shot up iTunes straight to number 1 and debuted at like 6 in the official charts I think, yet no focus has been put there and the album is languishing around the #50 mark on iTunes.

Don't get me wrong I am sure they plan on continually promoting this throughout the year and will visit Germany, but I think a small staggered release would have been beneficial. Say September 11th UK, September 18th/25th USA, 2nd/9th October Germany.

Brilliant interview on the Elvis Duran show today, she is so full of confidence now it's amazing to see.

Edit: Album up to 17 on UK iTunes now, climbed 6 places in the space of an hour not bad when it had been free falling.

I agree, she's spent too much time focusing on America, and let things kind of fizzle out in the UK in the meantime.

People are complaining that the label has lowered the price? What do you expect them to do - sit back and do nothing?
Her management needs to get their act together and release a big hit single.ALS, I got you, YKMW, or Ladders.I am the single is not connecting enough in the Uk, it only peaked at like #130 on itunes, then you have Thunder in the Usa, after GMA performance only peaked at #157 and FUMF in Germany has only peaked at like #65.These numbers just aren't good enough.Leona needs a worldwide big hit Asap.

I think people need to realise it doesn't matter what they choose to release for Leona as a single. It could be anything, UK radio especially are just not interested and its really frustrating. If Taylor Swift Ed Sheeran etc released any of these they would be hits, the problem is people thinking leona isnt relevant any more. What they should have done imo is have her featured on a massive single before this album campaign. She's now on Def Jam surely they could have made that happen...show people Leona is still relevant and still as amazing as 2007.

No trust me i'm glad they're doing something (preferably better planned UK promo), i just think its very cheeky. Really it should have been released at these prices before, if not at least £8.99. £11.99 is too steep for albums these days imo.

Lowering the price of the album will only work in the short term.Leona needs that big hit to keep the album selling in the long term.Whar is going on with her management. Their taking forever to release a song to Usa top 40 radio. Also what's taking so long to release the I am video?

Wouldn't it be Def Jam who is responsible for sending the song to Top 40 rather than her management.

And I think the I Am video has been scrapped.

I agree with this. I think a lot of people think if a song has flopped it means it isn't that good when in actual fact it's usually due to radio politics. A feature or two would've made the most sense in my opinion. Maybe Def Jam/Island didn't want Leona's first release on their label to be as a featured artist? Still, there's time for it to happen - especially in the US where radio isn't so ridiculously snobby.

I want to post so bad on things that could be done to guarantee success of this era, despite the missteps so far, but fear it is presumptuous as long as Thunder, which they are heavily promoting atm, has not been sent to Top 40. Anyone know why? And how many spins per day can she get. Nick Jonas has averaged 200 spins -plus since he released Ladders. I wonder how an artiste gets that. I'm sure that would push Thunder to the top without fail.

Island need to completely shift their focus from UK to Germany (TV and Radio), the rest of Europe and Australia. Their focus in that market should be for the holiday season. She could make up big time for the under-performance so far with multiple performances of YKMW, coiffed up and gowned to her ankles, on TV shows...Strictly, Graham Norton, Allan Carr..etc. Promote FUMF across the rest of the world in readiness for a spring US release.

I'll just add one more thing...will come back another time with a full post about the US station.

There are plenty of movies coming up during the holiday season and even into the spring. Leona and DJ can try approach a few studios with a recorded track or offer to perform a movie's song. I would be so jazzed if she sang for Star Wars (dreaming big here), and with I SEE YOU in her resume, it seems all the more possible. Wish it could happen.

My biggest issue right now is, why haven't they sent Thunder for Pop adds yet, its stalling on HAC they need to get a move on.
What's the purpose of getting interviewed by Elvis Duran of Z100, the #1 top 40 station in the Usa, if they don't even spin or add her single?
The album still doing well in the Usa.Currently #26.

I am actually impressed that its been holding steady, didn't expect it.

Did Elvis Duran not even play 'Thunder'?
