December 30, 201311 yr Sexx Dreams tho is amazing. That Paris Hilton song is actually quite good. *hides in the corner*.
December 31, 201311 yr Poor brave Newman :( (altho yeah it probably wasn't the best follow-up single). Gotta agree about Lily's SOWK- i don't hate it but it's REALLY limp, especially in comparison to the original <3 Some great choices so far- mainly some of the more underrated gems (Closer, Lies, Reverse Skydiving, Axis etc.)
December 31, 201311 yr Author I was gonna do the top 10 today, but due to my hectic busy life I found I didn't have enough time. Coming up tomorrow!
January 2, 201411 yr Great to see I Could Be The One so high Aly! Haha at the top 5 shocking moments too, completely agree with all of them apart from Lily. It's My Party's chorus really is incredibly terrible.
January 3, 201411 yr Author Top 10 time! 10. Zedd Feat. Foxes - Clarity http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbebl7yF8h1qzzvv4_1349399852_cover.jpg IxxstCcJlsc This was my dance anthem of choice about this time last year, featuring the stunning vocals from the ultra talented Foxes this peaked at #29 in the UK (but sold really decently for a #29), and was a huge smash in the US over the summer.
January 3, 201411 yr Author 9. Alexis Jordan - Acid Rain http://i.imgur.com/GtmXEbn.png 9GImdOQi99M Poor brave Alexis, this didn't even get released in the end. In true Alexis form of ripping the backing track from other dance tracks, this swiped from the Bingo Players' #1 a couple of months previously. I really didn't like this at first, but it did eventually win me over and is quite the anthem.
January 3, 201411 yr Author 8. Britney Spears - Work Bitch http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6XDdPCktIck/UjJCLGpUI4I/AAAAAAAAAds/LzdudewFd1E/s1600/rs_600x600-130912113633-600.Britney-Spears-Work.jl.091213.jpg pt8VYOfr8To Most members of Buzzjack will know I'm far from Britney's biggest fan, but for me she's really got her spunk back with Britney Jean. Featuring production from Otto Knows and sounding remarkably similar to Swedish House Mafia's 'Greyhound' (which I placed at the same position in last year's EOY chart), for me this is pretty much up there with 'Gimme More' among her best (but not quite that good!) January 3, 201411 yr Author 7. Chris Malinchak - So Good To Me http://givafizz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/artworks-000047915089-au487l-t500x500-2.jpg KrMl32cuC2A Showing a more ambient side of dance music, this was the soundtrack to many a hungover morning on the beach in Ibiza back in the summer. So glorious.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 6. The Saturdays (minus Sean Paul) - What About Us http://www.thesaturdays.co.uk/images/sized/images/static/entries/the-saturdays-what-about-us-artwork-600x600.png -6YLi0GNBTk What a stormer of a pop song for the girls, deservedly became their first #1 earlier in the year. Addictive and laden with hooks, shame they killed their momentum as per usual after this. I'll stick to the version not featuring the odious man that is Sean Paul.
January 4, 201411 yr That Zedd track is so beautiful it also made my top 10 of the year, its a shame the track didn't do that well in the official chart though, its got to be one of my favourite dance tracks of 2013 along with the Cedric Gervais remix of Summertime Sadness.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 5. Martin Garrix - Animals http://www.steady130.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/ga.jpg gCYcHz2k5x0 This epic trance number recently hit #1 in the UK, and I was over the moon to see it do so. It's my second favourite #1 of the year, can you guess what my first is? When that drop kicks in it hits me every time, it's insane.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 4. Diana Vickers - Music To Make Boys Cry http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Diana-Vickers-Music-to-Make-Boys-Cry-Single-2013-LQ-300x300.png -NQ9a_ZdTr4 Pop masterpiece, and I won't hear otherwise! I put this at #29 in last year's countdown, but with the single release this year I've loved it more than ever so it's only right I include it again. Should've been massive, was never going to be. Oh well.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 3. Icona Pop Feat. Charli XCX - I Love It http://i1.cdnds.net/13/07/618x618/icona-pop--i-love-it-single--cover-art2.jpg UxxajLWwzqY So this is my favourite #1 of the year, a belter of an electro-pop song and a wonderful ode to carefee frivolousness. Their album was great, but they were always going to be one hit wonders. One of my favourite 2013 memories: seeing them perform this, and the ginger one grabbing my head and singing the chorus at me.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 2. Disclosure Feat. AlunaGeorge - White Noise http://images.contactmusic.com/images/press/disclosure-white-noise-feat-alunageorge-album-cover-press-300.jpg bkk2H3Ztrfk This piece of sheer musical genius pretty much soundtracked the first half of 2013 for me, and I suppose in some ways set a precursor for the 90s old school throwback we would experience for the year. Still love it just as much as when I first heard it, a true epic.
January 4, 201411 yr Author 1. Avril Lavigne - Rock N Roll http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s63lktA1uO0/UhRc52ZjvkI/AAAAAAAAJ10/WNWQOMQINZU/s1600/Rock%20N%20Roll.png uuNTO31FlY8 I realise I'm probably the only person on the planet to have this as their number one of the year, but what an anthem on so many levels. What a rousing chorus. I've never exactly been Avril's biggest fan, but for me she truly nailed it with this, and it's probably also the best video of the year. Maybe she should've came up with this earlier and came back with it last time around, but c'est la vie.

Martin Garrix - Animals 03. Icona Pop Feat. Charli XCX - I Love It 02. Disclosure Feat. AlunaGeorge - White Noise 01. Avril Lavigne - Rock N Roll Top 5 horrors: 5. John Newman - Cheating - AWFUL Follow up to the great Love Me Again 3. Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know - I love this so it's sad to know you consider it a horror. 2. Jessie J - It's My Party - I would put her whole existence into the 'horror' category. The most annoying popstar out there. 1. Paris Hilton Feat. Lil' Wayne - Good Time - To think she could deliver a song like Nothing In This World made me think this could've been good or bearable at least, but this has to be the most generic and annoying song released this year. Pleased to see Britney and Avril so high.
