I can't agree with you about Ellie - I really was indifferent to her during the Lights era but fell for her music after Halcyon came out. I really like Burn and How Long Will I Love You as well - the former because I love the magic and energy that takes place during the song and the latter because it's a lovely song about wanting to make something last (and nowhere NEAR as bad as Just Give Me A Reason which to me is pure shite).

I really loved Ellie Goulding from when she first came about right up until 2012, Lights was patchy but Halcyon was really good. It's just now Halcyon Days comes out that its all become a bit too basic. I understand why she did it and still hold a soft spot for her, but she's kinda losing her uniqueness - I long for the girl who sang Guns & Horses & Figure 8 to come back :(

 

Really love this concept, I will be keeping an eye on this one.
